Cat No: 8
1841 3c red brown Queen Victoria Imperforate, a group of 56 used singles, collected for the wide range of shades and papers. Scott lists three basic shades: red brown ($9), orange brown ($55) and lake red ($825). At the very least there should be examples of these here, as well as examples from the many other Stanley Gibbons shades listed. Some of these are described by the owner as being brown red, puce, plum, mulberry, brown, rose, red-lake and orange red, and there are also a few examples on very blued paper. A great lot for the specialist, overall fine with the usual small faults. (Image)
