image Collection of Mint and Never Hinged Aden / States and Yemen, consisting of roughly 750 stamps, in several Vario-style stock pages and cards. We note an accumulation of Aden (roughly 300 stamps), ranging from Scott #1/65; Kathiri State of Seiyun Scott #1-38 (c.v. $159); Qu'aiti State in Hadhramaut Scott #29-52 (light hinged, c.v. $71) , 41-52 (never hinged sheet margins, some with printers tab, c.v. $45) and Qu'aiti State of Shihr and Mukalla Scott #1-12 (never hinged, c.v. $65), along a lightly hinged set of Scott #1-28 (c.v. $117), with a stock page of owner's accumulated mint duplicates. The lot concludes with a stock page of Yemen, roughly 95 stamps (owner's c.v. $125). A spot check of stamps show a mixture of mint hinged and never hinged. We note an accumulation of Aden (roughly 285 stamps), ranging from Scott #1/65, (including a mint never hinged set #36-46, c.v. $82); Kathiri State of Seiyun perforated Specimen of 1946 Victory Issue (S.G. c.v. £120), Scott #1-41 (c.v. $166), along with a stock page owner's accumulated duplicates; Qu'aiti State in Hadhramaut Scott #29-52 (c.v. $71) and Qu'aiti State of Shihr and Mukalla perforated Specimen of 1946 Victory Issue (S.G. c.v. £120), Scott #1-12 (never hinged, c.v. $65), along a lightly hinged set of Scott #1-28 (c.v. $117). We note used Aden, roughly 900 stamps in singles, a few blocks and five stock pages of owner's accumulated duplicates, ranging from Scott #1/65, along with Kathiri State of Seiyun, Qu'aiti State in Hadhramaut and Qu'aiti State of Shihr and Mukalla used singles (roughly 80 stamps, including some sets). The lot continues with mint singles from Aden and States (owner's catalogue exceeds $300), along with a binder of mint and used South Arabia (roughly 300 stamps, including overprints on Aden States stamps and souvenir sheets). The lot concludes with two binders of used Yemen (roughly 1,100 stamps, owner's c.v. $950). Catalogue value, and identification notations, provided by the owner. A spot check of stamps show a mixture of mint hinged and never hinged, and note C.T.O. cancels with a few c.d.s postmarks. Online scans only show a representation of the lot. image Mint and Used Aden and Bahrain Collections, 1926 to 1970, on older album pages in a binder. Both collections are over 80% complete in period. The Aden collection is over half comprised of mint stamps. In the Aden portion there are additional stamps, such as a mint and used example for some issues, also included are a number of overprinted issues, such as those for the Rome Olympics. The Bahrain collection is a fairly even split between mint and used stamps. Included is # 14 (used c.v. $260) and many others. The Bahrain collection too has additional material in the form of mint and used examples of the same issue. Overall fine to very fine. (Image)
