Cat No: 62 var.

image 1900, 1m brownish carmine, "extended lane" variety (Scott 62 var.), position 18 in the plate with a large plate scratch extending from in front of the horse-drawn coach at the left, diagonally across the building and all the way to the left frame; also shows the bottom of the "C" in "REICHSPOST" broken, o.g., never hinged, exceptionally fresh and well centered, Very Fine to Extremely Fine. Exceedingly rare in the scarce brownish carmine shade - Michel's price for the variety in the ordinary vermilion/red shade is €2,500 versus €550 for the normal stamp; At that same ratio, this stamp would catalog €10,900! with 1997 Jäschke certificate that notes a very light natural bend that, frankly, we can't even see.
Michel 63 b PF I.
Michel €2,400 ++ ($2,690).

As fine an example of this interesting variety as exists.
