image France, Outstanding Mint and Used Collection, 1849-1996, A marvelous collection, fairly complete for the period, in ten Lindner hingeless albums; the main, primarily mint collection is in six of the volumes and is loaded with better material, though the 19th century is somewhat mixed, condition-wise; highlights include Scott numbers (mint, o.g. unless noted) 9 (5 used), 10 (2 used), 18 (F-VF), 21 (used), 28 (short perf), 37 (used), 53, 55a (used with Calves certificate, repaired corner), 63 (most o.g.), 67, 69, 84 (NH), 89 (NH), 95 (NH), 99, 107, 119a (Millésime 1, €500), 126 (2, one with small thin), 175a (NH), 197 (NH), 226 (thins in margins, 246 (used, few short perfs), 254 (regummed), 254A (2, one NH), 326b (NH); Semi-Postals complete (B3-7 NH, B8-10 regummed), C1-2, C3-4 (mint & used forgeries), C15 (toned o.g.), and much more — basically complete from 1924 onward except for the Airs and some Postage Dues. There is even a nearly complete collection of Precancels (most earlies without gum), though the rare 30c green "Peace" (YT 69) is a forgery. The other four volumes contain a collection of used 20th century duplicates to 1963, and, while there are some nice stamps throughout, there is not a whole lot of value. As for condition, as stated previously, the 19th century is mixed but the 20th is virtually all F-VF, though up to the mid 1930s, there is a good bit of regumming of stamps that were thought to be NH; that being said, from the late 1930s onward virtually everything actually is NH! All-in-all, quite a remarkable collection.

image France, Une Collection Par Excellence! 1849-1991, Absolutely thrilling collection all in black mounts on Scott pages and housed in three binders. Almost all used up to the turn of the century, and then almost all mint thereafter with a long list of better sets & singles. Here are just some of them as mounted… mint #198 & 201 (sheets of 25), 226b, 329, 347, 348, 414, 1100 (sheet of 8), B6, B11, B34, B42-43, B66-67, C1-2, C22, C26, and used 1-3, 7, 9, 12-13, 16-17, 24, 37, 38-48, 79, 83, 96, 126, C14, C15, C17, J1. Sure, great stamps and largely complete, but what really makes this a "thrilling" collection are the many extras the collector has added to make it stand out, like millésime pairs, gutter blocks and pairs, blocs coin date, interesting early covers, multiples with various cancels (numeral, CDS, railroad), stamps with attached advertising labels, even a few essays. Owner CV around $25,000. Some condition issues early on, but generally Fine to Very Fine, much of this lot has been scanned for your viewing pleasure! Shipping charges apply - weight 13.2 lbs. Used premium include #1-3, 9, 12, 17, 47, 108. As for mint, 121-22, 127, 130, 311-12, 313-14, 342-47, 348, B22, B48-59, B83, B294-99, C22, C32, as well as some very sought-after booklets, like 752a, B274a, B291a, B309a, B318a, B347a. Many duplicates throughout, sometimes both mint & used in space provided. Collection starts to taper off around 1970, but pages continue until 1983. If you were looking to not only upgrade your collection but your albums as well, this could be your ticket! Condition of stamps varies early on, but is generally Fine to Very Fine, first two volumes entirely viewable online. Shipping charges apply - weight 31.2 lbs. French Colonies, Lebanon & Syria Specialized Collection of Overprints & Surcharges, 1920-43, Although much is now listed in the Scott Classic, it would be helpful to have a Y&T catalogue on hand, yet even that often won't be enough, as there is quite a bit of unlisted material here in the form of overprints and surcharges gone wrong - inverted, double, shifted, printed on the gum side, missing a letter or punctuation, and so on. Take the following mint Lebanon, for example, Yvert #63a, 66a. 67a, 68a, 78a, 100a, 116a-b, 120d, and many more. Also many stamps as they were meant to be issued with a lot of scarcer material, like mint Scott #53, 69-70, 78-79. You'll also encounter blocks of various sizes, millésime pairs, even a few covers, like one from Beirut to Canton (present-day Guangzhou) from 1921. An alluring lot to say the least, and one that has been photographed in full, mostly Fine to Very Fine.
