Old Time Collection of Mint French Colonies in a Frank Godden Album, 1939-1942, with a slipcase. Consists of a few hundred stamps, mostly sets, hinged onto quadrille pages. We note 24 sets of the 1939 French Revolution commemoratives including French Equatorial Africa (c.v. $107), French Oceania (c.v. $122), New Caledonia (c.v. $101), Réunion (c.v. $86), along with other set cataloguing $25 and up. The collection continues with Free French sets and partial sets, ranging from 1940 to 1942 including French Cameroon (Scott #255/281, c.v. $199 total), French Oceania (Scott #126-135, c.v. $378 total), New Caledonia (Scott #217-251, c.v. $624 total). Online scans show a representation. A test indicated stamps are lightly hinged onto pages, leaving a few with little to no hinge traces once removed. A visually appealing collection with fresh and vibrant colours throughout, overall fine to very fine. From the estate of a collector who stopped collecting during World War II, and whose albums have not been opened until now. (Image)

France and Colonies Collection, from the Classics to the 1990s, consisting of a mostly used France collection in a Minkus country album plus a Minkus Supreme Global album for the Colonies. We estimate the France portion of the collection to be 70% complete in period and includes Scott #s 16 (c.v. used $160), 17 (used $165) and 96 (used $70) and many others. The Global album has well over 1,000 stamps with a mix of mint and used. Overall fine or better. (Image)
