image Collection of Mint France in a Scott Postage Album, 1862-1968, containing many hundreds of stamps, including Semi-Postals and Airmails. The collection begins with small representation of pre-1900 mint with Scott #s 22, 29, 30, 31, 50, 53, 61, 66, with strength from 1900 up to 1968 ranging from #109/1251 (single stamps appear 95% complete from 1920 onward). We note better items including 126 (c.v. $675), 131 (c.v. $125), 132 (c.v. $200), 226b (c.v. $125), 247-248 (all 4 types, c.v. $622 total), 253 (c.v. $275), 254A (c.v. $250), along with stamps cataloguing $10 and up. Catalogue value totaled $4,895 (up to 1938 only). The collection has strength in Semi Postal issues, ranging from B1-B8 and appears complete from B11 to B431, with better items including B7-8 (c.v. $360 total), B27 (c.v. $140), B34a booklet of 4 (c.v. $300), B38-41 (c.v. $365 total). Catalogue value totaled $2,588 (up to 1939 only). Rounding out the collection is a selection of Airmails, ranging from Scott #s C5/C42 and includes better items C27 (c.v. $130), C31 (c.v. $175). Catalogue value for the airmail section totaled $860. A cursory check indicated mint hinged stamps and the collection was catalogued as such, with the possibility of mint never hinged finds. Online scans show some of the better pages. We note the pre-1900 mint have no gum, along with some of the pre-1920 mints having paper hinge remnants. A visually colourful collection, overall fine to very fine. (Image)

image Stockbook Filled with Valuable Early Mint and Used Material, the stockbook contains 60 filled pages of French material, from 1849 to about the 1960s. 6 of the pages are filled with Cérès and Napoléon perforated and imperforate issues. Followed by most of the definitives and commemorative issues in period, with duplication sometimes in the dozens (very little, if any semi-postals or back of the book). Also saw a bit of Colonies, etc. Most of the early issues are used, with many having nice c.d.s. or other cancels (numeral, etc.) and more of the mint are hinged. Many of the early valuable stamps have faults to varying degrees, still overall fine to very fine and with a huge catalogue value, certainly well over $25,000. A great opportunity for a collector seeking postmarks or missing values, or for a dealer to prepare lots of interesting stock for resale. Scans only show a small sampling. (Image)

image Stockbook Filled with Valuable Early Mint and Used Material, the stockbook contains 31 filled pages of French material, from 1849 to the early 1980s. 3 of the pages are filled with Cérès and Napoléon perforated and imperforate issues, and we also note mint and used Peace and Commerce, Mouchon, Sowers, Merson, a used PEXIP block of four, a mint PEXIP souvenir sheet, 1964 Philatec souvenir sheets, a page of airmail and military labels, followed by mint and used semi-postal issues, se-tenant strips, Airmail issues, Postage Dues, Red Cross booklets (1965-67), etc. Mix of mint and used (incl. some NH), with duplication of some, and overall quality looks nice except for some of the high value early issues which may have faults, or fewer than 4 margins. A very valuable stockbook, ideal for collectors as well as dealers, see online scans for a small glimpse. (Image)

image Mint and Used Material in Two Stockbooks, 1849 to 1960s, each with a total of 48 pages full of useful material. The order is not chronological, but we saw the equivalent of 2 full pages of Cérès and Napoléon perforated and imperforate issues, as well as a great assortment of mint and used definitives and commemoratives, including semi-postals. We note heavy duplication of some issues, sometimes of more valuable material, with many complete sets sometimes in dozens of examples. We note many sets of the Famous Men issues. Also includes some Postage Dues, Air Mail, Red Cross issues, Parcel stamps, early General Colonies Eagle and Shield issues and Council of Europe issues. Overall condition looks very nice, with the usual faults on some of the early issues. A very valuable offering, and should catalogue over $15,000, ideal for both collectors or dealers looking to prepare interesting stock of nice material. See online scans for a sampling. (Image)
