image Collection / Accumulation of Mint and Used France in Four Binders, 1849-2014, collected chronologically, consisting of over 3,000 stamps in Vario-style pages and 3-row dealer cards. The collection ranges from Scott #14/4532, with primarily used stamps up to 1940, with a mixture of mint and used thereafter (many cases of a mint and used stamp per issue). We note selections of mint and used Semi-Postals (#B1/B735), Airmails (#C5/C54), along with over 100 souvenir sheets, and a selection of booklet panes, from 2010 to 2014. Better items include Scott #s: 297 (n..h., c.v. $50), C15 (n.h., c.v. $1,700), C17 (used, c.v. $130). We note c.d.s. postmarks (many socked on the nose), with closer inspection possibly yielding other postmark surprises. We note some of the early stamps have small faults, with a few of the mint stamps being slightly toned. Duplication up to 10 in some cases. Overall fine to very fine. (Image)

image Mint and Used Back of the Book Collection, 1880s to 2007, on older album pages in a binder. This collection includes the following stamps #s B11 (used c.v. $60), B43 (mint c.v. $55). C13 (mint c.v. $62) and J22 (used c.v. $57). The semi-postals are complete by catalogue illustration from 1935 to 1943. They are also over 90% complete from WWII to about 1992 with some stamps to 2007. The Famous Men issues are near complete in mint. The airmails are complete by catalogue illustration from 1946 to 1987. The postage dues section is fairly full, beginning in 1893. The Council of Europe stamps are complete from 1958 to 1980. The Unesco issues are complete from 1961 to 1985. The Alsace and Lorraine occupation issues are both complete. Included also is a selection of pre-cancels. Throughout the collection, there are many instances where there is a mint and a used example for the same stamp. Overall fine to very fine. (Image)

image Mint and Used Collection, 1849 to 1998, on older album pages in a very full, thick binder. We estimate this collection to be over 90% complete by catalogue illustration and there is also a great deal of extra material tucked in throughout and at the back of the collection. This collection includes #s 24 (used c.v. $110) and 96 (used c.v. $70), along with many better sets, such as most of the Famous Men series, complete. For many issues, stamps are hinged one on top of the other, up to four or more deep. Often, there are mint as well as used examples for the same issue. There are thousands of stamps in this collection. Overall fine to very fine. (Image)

image Accumulation of Mint and Used France, 1849-2010, containing many thousands of stamps in ten stockbooks. The used begins from 1849 up to the 1930, and continues with a gradual inclusion of mint and primarily used stamps thereafter. The lot begins with Definitive classics, in some cases with heavy duplication, including: Céres, Napoléon, Bordeaux, Peace and Commerce, and gradually includes a mint and used example (in a few cases) of Commemoratives, Postage Dues, Airmails, and Semi Postals entering the 1930s onward, including two 1948 Marseille exhibition labels. We note a good run of modern used from the 1970s up to 2010 with an attempt to have complete sets, along with a stockbook containing mint singles, blocks and booklets from the same time period. A cursory check indicated some stamps catalogue $10 and up, including Scott #s: 18 used (x40, c.v. $400 total), 36 used (x45, c.v. $900 total), 59 used (x24, c.v. $144 total), 131 used (x6, c.v. $102 total), B153-157 (m.h., c.v. $60 total), B249-254 (m.h., c.v. $72 total), C35 (m.h. c.v. $21), leaving other finds for the dedicated collector. An interesting lot for the France specialist. Online scans show a representation of the lot. We note a few faults with the early as to be expected in a lot of this size. Overall fine to very fine.
