image 1918 Toronto to Bahamas Special Delivery Cover, mailed at Toronto JUN.25.1918 and franked with a 2c + 1c War Tax Admiral, plus a Bahamas 5d Queen's Staircase (E1) single, addressed to Nassau Bahamas. Admiral is tied by a Toronto Exhibition slogan machine and the Bahamas stamp (slightly sulphuretted) is additionally cancelled with a Nassau c.d.s. plus two other free strikes front and back. Back also shows a Manseau QUE broken circle dated JUN.26 (cover was undoubtedly mis-sent there). During a short period, Bahamas Special Delivery stamps were sold in Ottawa, Toronto, Westmount (Montréal) and Winnipeg post offices and could be used on mail destined there, and cancelled upon arrival.
