image 1836-1853 Group of Three Money Letters From the Harry Lussey Collection, all three folded letters are forerunners to the "registered" markings, 1836 Yamachiche LC to Montréal with "Letter Money" a literal translation from French, 1840 West Williamsburg UC to Toronto with "Money" and "680" and according to Lussey this would be the earliest known use of a letter bill number appearing on a letter. A lovely group, each is accompanied by Lussey's album page write-ups. (Image)
