Extensive Lifetime Collection of Winnipeg Squared Circle Postmarks, 1893 to 1898, all neatly displayed and described on pages filling five thick binders, arranged chronologically (basically a calendar collection). We note different hammers, advanced time mark and period studies, usages and much more. The owner counted a total of about 2,432 stamps (1,975 SQ from ½c to 10c, 323 Jubilees from 1c to 50c and 134 QV from ½c to 5c) plus 241 covers and cards (including advertising, etc), representing a total of 1,205 different days in the 6 year period covered. The great majority of the postmarks shown are fully dated and good strikes and we noted a nice cover with a 1c Strand of Hair variety. A rare opportunity to acquire such an extensive collection, see online scans for a small glimpse. (Image)

Extensive Lifetime Collection of Squared Circle Cancellations, all neatly displayed and described on pages in five binders. The first binder includes Precursors (x37) and Type I squared circles (x106) and the rest of the binders includes Type II (x 1,124) sorted by town and province, with a total of 190 different hammers. Owner counted about 300 covers, and we estimate there to be several hundreds of stamps. Also includes a specialized collection of Morden Manitoba squared circle cancels. An advanced collection, with many rarer items, indicia varieties, advertising covers, with many covers still priced in the $20 to $50 range and every binder starts with a checklist of hammers it includes. The strikes range from full to partial but identifiable. See scans for a small idea, but we recommend careful viewing to better appreciate the value involved. (Image)
