image Old Time Collection of Mint Newfoundland on Quadrille Pages, 1928-1939, neatly written up, The collection consists of roughly 225 stamps including singles, sets and blocks, including better sets with Scott #s: 145-159 (c.v. $139 total), 172-182 (c.v. $229 total), 212-225 (c.v. $160), C6 (x2), C7 (x5), C8 (x2) (c.v. $322 total), C9-C11 two sets (c.v. $280 total), C13-17 (c.v. $175 total). We note the stamps have exceptionally vibrant and rich colour, along with heavy hinging (multiple hinges in some cases). Online scans show the better sets. Overall fine to very fine. From the estate of a collector who stopped collecting during World War II, and whose albums have not been opened until now. (Image)

image Collection of Mint Newfoundland in a Hingeless Lindner Album, 1860-1947, with slipcase, consisting of a few hundred stamps beginning with Scott #s 11A, 15A, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, 27, 30, 31, and continues with selections of singles and a few sets including 61-74 (c.v. $331 total), 78-85 ($156 total), 115-126 ($293 total). The collection appears to be complete from 1932 onward, and includes a few Airmail and Postage Due stamps. The lot rounds out with roughly twenty mint B.N.A. stamps from New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. Online scans show a representation. We note a majority of the stamps have heavy hinging, hinge remnants, gum disturbance, or no gum, along with two used stamps. Overall, fine to very fine. (Image)

The lot begins with the stock pages containing roughly 225 used stamps, ranging from 1868 to 1928, noting Unitrade #s: 27 (c.v. $50), 35 (x10, c.v., $175 total), 59 (c.v. $60), 103 (c.v. $70), along with some stamps cataloguing $10 and up. The lot continues with a springback album with over 500 mint and used stamps, ranging from 1919 to 1947, and includes stamps cataloguing $10 and up, noting #144 (used, c.v. $50), 1935 Silver Jubilee issue in mint blocks of four (x2 m.h., x2 n.h., c.v. $85 total), J1-J6 mint blocks of four (x2 m.h., x2 n.h., c.v. $257 total). The remaining albums include accumulations of used stamps, primarily post 1920. The lot includes owner's notations indicating unchecked varieties and perforation types. image Mostly Mint Newfoundland Collection, with up to 1896 displayed on Scott Specialty pages, 1897 to the end on Lighthouse hingeless pages. A valuable collection with a good level of advancement, including better early issues (not many Pence, but starts to be strong in the First Cents issues), etc. Also strong in Airmail issues, which includes better such as C2a (with APS cert, c.v. $350), C12 ($400), C18 (with 2007 PF cert grading it XF 90, $450), etc. A quick spot check of the gum revealed mostly mint hinged stamps, plus a handful of used, and have therefore catalogued the entire collection as such. Overall fine to very fine, see some of the better pages scanned online. (Image)

image Dealer Stock of Mint and Used Newfoundland in a Red Box, containing roughly 160 dealer 102 cards, and used accumulations in glassines. The cards are organized chronologically by Unitrade number and includes fairly recent Unitrade catalogue values (as priced by the owner). A spot check indicated better stamps including Unitrade #s 25 (used, c.v. $375), 26 (m.h., re-entry position 62, $600), 28a (m.h., $300), 32a (m.h., $105), 92 (m.h., $140), 92ai (m.h., $300), 107 (n.h., $150), along with cards priced $20 to $100 and up. Catalogue value of the cards (up to 1911 only), totals $8,168, leaving plenty of value left uncounted, including back of the book material. The lot also includes a few 102 cards with mint and used B.N.A. Online photos show a representation of the lot, with duplication up to 5 in some cases. image Group of Waterlow Proofs and Other Interesting Items, 1932 to 1944, consisting of four varieties for the dedicated collector of Newfoundland, all on one black stock sheet. The first is Unitrade #193, the 10c Salmon Leaping stamp in black instead of olive black, from the sheet of 100 originating from the chairman of Perkins Bacon; it comes with a normal for comparison (Bileski retail $100). Second, #253a - a horizontal imperforate pair of the 1c Codfish (Unitrade c.v. $140) with the usual crackled gum. Next up, a set of 254P-266P singles, the 1941-44 2c to 48c Waterlow Re-issue Perforated Proofs (missing the 1c and 7c) all with security punch holes, some with archival tape on the back as usual and lastly, #257vii, the 1941 5c Caribou imperforate with security punch in a mint block of four (top pair hinged, bottom pair NH) accompanied by a 2002 Sergio Sismondo certificate.
