image Group of Roughly 140 Newfoundland Covers, 1935-1947, primarily first day covers, along with first flight and commemorative covers. We note 1935 Silver Jubilee and 1937 Coronation frankings, along with 1940s stamps in singles and blocks (including a few plate blocks). The lot also includes 12 first flight covers from 1947, originating in Gander with routes to Finland, India, and Turkey, and commemorative covers including covers franked with Canada 4c Cabot's ship Matthew stamp, and last day covers. We note a few small town Newfoundland postmarks including Old Perlican and Victoria. Duplication up to 5 in some cases. Online photos show an overview. image Group of 36 Newfoundland Covers, 1891-1898, with an 1891 cover with broken circle St. Johns Central dated JAN.19.1891 to the United States, franked with 5c Harp Seal (Unitrade #54), along with United States 1c Postage Due. The lot continues with an 1898 cover to Switzerland, received on NOV.06.1898, franked with 5c Harp Seal (Unitrade #55), along with an 1898 1c postal stationery card to England, uprated with 2x ½c Newfoundland Dog (Unitrade #58). The majority of the lot contains covers addressed to New Brunswick, franked with Discovery of Newfoundland and Royal Family issues, noting a few small town broken circle and T.P.O. postmarks. A nice lot for the postal history collector, from the estate of a collector who collected interesting and unusual material.
