Newfoundland Collections
Sale No: 28
Lot No: 1561
Symbol: O/*/*
Cat No: Collection

image Mint and Used Collection starting with #29, and mostly mint until the end, often with complete sets, sometimes one or two stamps in a set are missing, or are used. Of note is a complete used set of #61-74, mint 87-97 (missing 6c), 114-126 is all mint except for the used 1c, and most are NH, and more. Overall nice quality but a spot check revealed a few stamps without gum. We have catalogued sets with some hinged stamps as all hinged, even though they may contain many NH. Also includes a few mint NS and NB and a stock page of mostly used duplicates (these not counted in total catalogue value). (Image)

image Mainly Mint Collection on 16 Scott Pages, with about 250 different stamps, including air mails and postage dues. Starts at #1, 11A, 12A, 15A, 18-19, 20-23, then complete in the 1911-1947 period. Better back of the book as well, including #C2, 3, 18 (this one lightly hinged and catalogues $350), etc. Some gum faults here and there as well as some heavy hinges, still overall nice and clean collection with high catalogue value. image Mint and Used Collection on Pages and Stock Pages, the collection starts in 1868 and is fairly well represented with a mix of mint and used, including postage dues but no air mails or Pence issues, but complete Caribou, 1937 set and a few other such sets. We counted 148 different stamps altogether. Also included are a few stock pages with stamps chosen mostly for town cancels, with many nice strikes and small towns. A few faults in the early, rest are fine or better. Online scans give an idea. (Image)

image Retired Dealer Stock of Mint Issues, mostly all different, and includes hinged, never hinged and a few used. Note some air mails, 9 different never hinged dues and a few pairs, etc. The owner's prices total of $4,900 includes three stamps from PEI and NB. We have not counted four copies of NS #10 (each valued at $250) because they are quite faulty. Overall quality is nice and we noted a few stamps described as NH as having small gum imperfections.
