Horizontal pair, used with two 1¢ green & brown red (5) singles and 4¢ brown & dull blue (7) pair, all cancelled by red crayon (except bottom right 1¢) and additional New York "12" vertical barred ellipses, matching New York (3.1.1884) transit backstamp on larger Feb. 1884 cover from St. Thomas D.W.I. to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Mar. 3rd arrival backstamp, F.-V.F. and scarce use.
