image Large Collection of 1988 30c Post Par Inc. Mailed Covers, with over 800 covers, separated into different types, with over half of the collection franked with the Lafrenière Type 2 Post Par Inc. 30c label, those separated by "Post" Office number, for example one stack contains offices 1001-1009, another 1011 to 1017, 1020-1025, etc. The rest are unfranked but have a variety of interesting postmarks (with colour variations) including "Return Guaranteed", etc. Post Par Inc. operated during the 1987 Montréal postal strike and continued beyond, until they were shut down by court order. A rare grouping of covers which would be fun to try and add to and perhaps even exhibit. (Image)

image 1945 S.S. Scythia Maritime Disaster Cover, fire broke out in the hold of the S.S. Scythia on MAY.25.1945 as she entered the River Mersey to Liverpool, and over 75% of the mail on board was destroyed. This O.H.M.S. / R.C.A.F. #10 size cover was addressed to London after being recovered. It received a straight line handstamp reading "Damaged by Fire & Water". British Office Damaged re-sealing label on the back. Scarce, and better that average condition for a wreck cover. (Image)

Also a 1937 airmail cover to England from Chesterfield Inlet and four 1939 covers from Craig Harbour, Churchill, Pond Inlet and Port Harrison. Finally, a 1963 postcard from Pangnirtung with an oval "Eastern Arctic Patrol DEC.23.1963 R.M.S. Canada" handstamp. The postcard has some creases and a small tear, rest are all very fine. (Image)

image Two Better 1939 Royal Train Covers, includes a very scarce JUN.10 United States Universal machine cancel cacheted cover used at Washington DC to service requests for Royal Train covers after Their Majesties departed for new York City. A must Have for Royal Train collectors as only about 14 of these are known. Also a MAY.15 registered special delivery cover with a Royal Train registration handstamp in English and in purple, plus a French machine flag cancel tying the stamps to the cover and two Royal Train c.d.s. cancels in French on the back. No. 6 on a 1956 cover to radio station CKEY in Toronto, with return address on back from Barrie, Ontario. This has a rarity factor "G" in Gray RPO catalogue and is the earliest reported date.
