image 1951 5c KGVI on Cover to Senegal, mailed from Sarnia (machine cancel ties) to Dakar, Senegal (receiver). Undelivered and returned to Canada via Montréal DLO and taxed 3c due. Tears, still a nice usage. Letters with return addresses originating from Canada addressed to any country other than Canada, GB, Ireland, the US, Mexico and Columbia were NOT returned directly to the senders if they failed to be delivered at the office of destination. The letters were returned through the Canadian Dead Letter Office subject to the charge of 3¢ each. (Image)
