image The Sandy Denovan Collection of Manitoulin District Postal History, this is the main collection on pages, in three thick binders and consisting of about 400 covers and cards, from a great number of different offices, ranging from stampless to modern. We note a wide variety of postmarks including duplex, broken circle, c.d.s., RPO, machines, squared circles, Klusendorf, MOON, MOTO, POCON, and many more. Many of these offices were only open a short time, or were summer offices, and postmarks tend to be difficult to find. We noted some ERD and LRD, as well as only known strikes. A good proportion of the material is modern, but we noted many registered, Small Queen, rates and postmark usages (dispatch, transit and receiving), etc. See our scans online for an idea, or better yet view to better appreciate. image The Sandy Denovan Manitoulin Postal History Duplicates, with over 1,300 covers, mostly all from Manitoulin district (or area), majority are from the 1980s to modern (with some older), with duplication, but still a good selection of towns and postmark types (mostly all hand datestamps and very few machines). image Collection of Unusual Postmarks and Other Ephemera, all mounted on pages, saw a Sault Ship Canal c.d.s. on cover, Truro R.P.O., instructional markings on covers, a 1942 mailed Airgraph, 1981 and 1992 F.M.O. Halifax covers, a 1958 CFPO c.d.s. on cover, older postal meters and permits, dozens of small to large pieces with a variety of chosen postmarks (mostly Nova Scotia c.d.s. and duplex, etc.), a few cinderellas, including a booklet with 24 souvenir stamps from Annapolis, N.S. (quite rare). Worth a close look, overall nice quality. (Image)
