The Sandy Denovan Collection of Manitoulin District Postal History, this is the main collection on pages, in three thick binders and consisting of about 400 covers and cards, from a great number of different offices, ranging from stampless to modern. We note a wide variety of postmarks including duplex, broken circle, c.d.s., RPO, machines, squared circles, Klusendorf, MOON, MOTO, POCON, and many more. Many of these offices were only open a short time, or were summer offices, and postmarks tend to be difficult to find. We noted some ERD and LRD, as well as only known strikes. A good proportion of the material is modern, but we noted many registered, Small Queen, rates and postmark usages (dispatch, transit and receiving), etc. See our scans online for an idea, or better yet view to better appreciate. See also our lot of Manitoulin postcards and duplicate covers elsewhere in this sale. (Image)
