image Large Lot of Federal Excise Tax Revenue Meters, in four envelope boxes containing a total of over 8,000 (conservatively counted) early 1950s cheques from "Canada Life Assurance", the vast majority franked with van Dam listed (page 119) 3c red type "H" meters (meter #149007). The 2017 catalogue values these at $10 and up, so total catalogue value is about $80,000 for the lot. These are the first we have handled, and may possibly be the only such holding around, so would be a perfect lot for the collector or dealer. (Image)

image Large Group of Cancelled Cheques To and From the Daniel Martin Company, roughly from 1915 to 1926, with 1,200 cheques incoming to the company and a further 1,500 (approximately) cheques outgoing from them. A very interesting group for many reasons, such as some are illustrated and most have stamps affixed to them. Majority are Admiral postage stamps (mostly 2c green and 2c carmine), but also Admiral War Tax revenues, Admiral War Tax postage stamps and Excise stamps, with many different denominations, frankings, etc. Scans show only a sampling. image Extensive Collection and Stock of Federal and Provincial Revenues, on about 50 stock pages or album pages filling a binder. We note a wide variety of material such as tobacco and cigar stamps, the usual federal revenue stamps including many pages of used and mint singles, pairs and strips of the electricity and gas inspection issues, two pages of unemployment insurance issues, several pages of war tax issues, WWII gasoline coupons and coupon booklets, Québec registration issues, law stamps, stock transfer as well as many other federal and provincial issues. The collection also includes a page of duck stamps and a number of documents with revenue stamps, including a number of Robin Hood Flour with meter revenues. We estimate about 1,300 stamps plus another 70 documents. See scans for a small glimpse only of this varied collection. (Image)
