Cat No: Collection
Collection of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI and Newfoundland, 1860 to 1947, in a Lighthouse album with slipcase. We noted a few Newfoundland covers including a larger registered first day cover of the Long Coronation issue with a lovely "ST.J.&PA.B.R.P.O" receiving cancel on the back. Also included are 27 covers franked with Newfoundland stamps on Salvation Army, YMCA and Canadian Legion covers, most with military censor marks. Unitrade catalogue value for the NB (x10), NS (x9) and PEI (x13) stamps is $830 counting all as the least expensive, basic stamps in fine condition only. We did not look closely for paper varieties. The Newfoundland is rather sparse, with around 30 stamps present, mostly mint hinged. A very clean offering, this lot would be ideal for a collector looking to start new areas of interest. See photos which show all the stamps except Newfoundland, along with a good representation of the postal history. (Image)
