1930, West Fukien Red Post, 4 pian olive green (Yang REP6), good color and large to ample margins, without gum as issued; "rebacked and regummed in an attempt to mask various defects" per accompanying certificate, Fine to Very Fine appearance for this rarity. Accompanied by photocopy of Dec. 11, 1992 letter from Shigeyaki Ogawa of the Japan Philatelic Center (Osaka) guaranteeing the genuineness of this example, which was sold in their auction of Sept. 25, 1992. According to Mr. Ogawa, this stamp was cut from a strip of three, and the resultant pair was acquired by the famous philatelist Mizuhara Meiso. With 1994 B.P.A. certificate. Yang $14,000 (HK$ 110,240).
Although seldom encountered, there are at least three significant multiples recorded: a defective block of ten in the China National Postal Stamp Museum, plus a block of ten (two stamps defective) and block of four both in the same private collection. Est. HK$12,000-16,000
