This most probably emanates from the Oldfield and David sheet, which was purchased by Lyons F. Livingston and subsequently split up. From this, Charles Dougan surmised that "the settings of ten for this issue and the Postage Dues were not cast in plates of forty but were printed ten at a time, four times to make up the sheets of forty".
