image EXTENSIVE SPECIALIZED PRIVATE DIE MEDICINE COLLECTION IN AMAZING HIGH QUALITY, includes several hundred stamps, covers and collateral items, mounted in six custom three ring binders, very nice variety but there is duplication here with various shades, cancels and some multiples, there are values up to about $150.00 with a few higher, the key to this collection is the overall quality and the number of specialized items with the stamps, there are many Very Fine or better centered stamps but also expect some mixed condition which usually means small faults here and there which is often the case in this area, the collection includes a very wide array of cancels many of which are printed provisionals, there are also a number of Battleships with Medicine company cancels, there are 95 various printed cancels in the collection along with another 64 with handstamped cancels, there are four Medicine related covers, 65 collateral items which include a couple dozen trade cards and about ten wrappers with and without stamps affixed, there are 39 various multiples scattered which for the most part are pairs and blocks of four, there are 31 various proofs most of which are plate proofs, some of the better items in the collection include: R17c, 138, RS31P4, 92TC1g, 164TC1e, 178-79P1, RT2P3(12 in two multiples), 10P3, the better stamps include: RS4f, 22a(2), 31d(4), 36b(2), 49d(2), 53b, 61d, 79b(3), 129b, 129d, 134a(2), 159b, 178a, 189c, 205b(DT), 209c, 219d, 277a, 307-08, 310-12, RT5a, 15b(2), 15d(2), 25a, RU2a, 7d(2), 8a, 10a(3), 11e; the catalog value listed is for the stamps and proofs and the normal catalog value for the cancels, in addition to the catalog value listed here there is easily $1,000.00 retail in the cancels, the covers would retail in the $300-400 range and the collateral items are easily worth in the $1,500-2,000 range with much of the value being in the wrappers, this is truly an amazing collection with great quality and a wonderful array of speciality material, certainly a rare opportunity to jump into this always "red hot" area of philately with a very advanced collection, there are dozens of scans of some of the pages from this collection on our website but we strongly suggest viewing this collection in person to get the full picture of the scope and quality of this collection, (ENV 10,000-12,500) (Image)
