image Ecuador, Excellent Postal History Collection, 1872-1930s, 145 covers or fronts, mostly hinged on pages, offering a wide array of covers, uses and destinations; the collection starts off with a pair of First Issue 1r yellows (#4) tied by "Franca" grid of diamonds on folded letter sheet dl May 25, 1872, to Lima, Peru, and runs strong to about the mid-1930s; includes a couple bisects (#170, #202 with normal), Airmail covers including Panagra and SEDTA, multicolor, full set and mixed frankings, some First Day Covers, advertising covers (including for Royal Typewriter), Consular and Official mail (US Foreign Service, Belgian Consulate, Colombian Consulate General, Ecuadoran Foreign Affairs Ministry, etc.); Registered, Certified and censored covers (the latter including one to Nicholas Sanabria—sent Airmail, of course); "U.P.U./Guayaquil, Ecuador" cancel on #42, 1928 Consular stamp surcharged 5c for use as postage, 1922 postcard from the National Academy of History to Hiram Bingham in New Haven, CT, etc., etc., etc.; destinations mostly US, but note Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Panama and Canal Zone, and Argentina as well; many covers opened for display; a beautiful and enticing holding, Fine to Very Fine, inspection invited; see the entire lot online.
