image 1926-27 (25c) Patricia Airways Imperforate Proof, in a mint never hinged full pane of eight, Plate 4 in green, on white paper, with large "TO" except at lower right where there is a small "to". Stamp designs have no inscriptions or airplane, etc. Marginal inscriptions include (on left and right of pane) "ED AKE" etc. in green. Bottom margin has light pencil notations from the designer, referring to the "to". Light wrinkling at bottom, corner crease at top right, else very fine, and quite rare. Rsv. $2,900. (Image)

Part Imperforate Progressive Proof, an ungummed full pane of eight, Plate 8, on beige paper, with 3 out of 5 horizontal perforation rows, imperforate vertically. The frame design is purple, the airplane is red, and there are no route inscriptions, the $2.00 marginal inscription is overprinted with a $4.00. Very fine and rare, Unitrade priced a similar, but not as dramatic proof at $4,400. Rsv. $2,800. (Image)

image 1926 (50c) Patricia Airways "Style Two" without Overprint, with "FED" Handstamp in Green and Unlisted Small "V" in "vIA", used with a nice strike of the SIOUX LOOKOUT c.d.s. dated AUG.2.1926, fresh and very fine. The "FED" initials are for F.E. Davidson, the financier for Patricia Airways, and this is the first example we have seen with the combination of both the FED handstamp and Small "v" variety. Catalogue value for a regular CL18e (mint or on cover) is $2,500. A rare stamp, missing in most advanced collections. (Image)
