image Middle East, "Masha'Allah" Errors and Other Mint & Used Rarities with Covers, 1889-1992, Quite often, things do not go as planned. Perhaps an overprint is just shifted, as we have here for Iraq #RA7//12, or worse, inverted overprints on pairs of Syria 86b & 87a, or even worse, double inverted overprints on Jordan N18-22. Errors abound in this lot from missing colors, such as a State of Oman 1968 sheetlet for the Mexico Olympics with color blue omitted, or double impressions, like three denominations of Qatar's 1965 UNESCO series in sheetlets of twelve. There are specimen overprints on Yemen 7-23 and many Scott-unlisted varieties, for example, imperforate sets of Syria 378-86 & CB1-4, and Yemen souvenir sheets in Memorial of Dag Hammarskjöld with both black & red overprints (MiNr. Block 1a+b), progressive color proofs of Dubai's first issue, even a genuine inverted center of Persia 565a (unpriced in Scott) along with unauthorized reprints of other denominations with inverted centers including the 9r in sheetlet format. Some darn interesting covers too, like a registered cover of Bangladesh with twelve postally-used copies (six on front & six on back) of the Palestine Freedom Fighters stamp withdrawn from sale on the day of issue, Oct. 3, 1992, as well as unused stamps in blocks of four and six, and two Saudi Arabia covers with booklet panes from the Holy Ka'aba issue (961a & 968a) cancelled on the day of issue in Riyadh, very rare to begin with let alone used (unpriced in Scott) due to vending machine breakdowns. Absolutely irresistible lot with tons more to be researched, generally Fine to Very Fine, viewable in its entirety online. Shipping charges apply - weight 4 lbs. image Middle East, Mostly Mint Collections of Egypt & Saudi Arabia, 1867-1997, Egypt (1867-1971) in a Palo album with stamps both hinged and in mounts; 19th century is lacking, but otherwise a very high rate of completion into the mid-1960s and a lot of better mint material, such as #105-07, 172-76, 308 (with green overprint mounted on certified card), 322-40, 343-60, C53-64, N1-19, N20-38, N39-56, NC1-12, NC23-24. Saudi Arabia (1917-97) in a 2-volume bilingual Farahbaksh album set is also very well-filled and looks to have a complete run of mint from 1982-97. Additional images of these two collections can be viewed online by following the link, generally Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 16 lbs.
