1715   Colombia Manuscript Town Cancellation Collection. Over 2,000 mostly 19th Century stamps from about 300 different towns, with readable manuscript town cancels, neatly arranged by town in two stockbooks, excellent variety including some of the rarest such as Arauca (two), Ataco, Barbosa (three), Barranco, Beyania, Bitumia, and many more, in fact there are over 200 rated 80 or 90 (the two highest ratings) in the Colombia Philatelic Society's listing, plus there are some where no rarity is listed and some that are not on the listing, there is duplication, variety of stamps from Colombia and the individual States, typical mixed quality

A COMPREHENSIVE COLLECTION OF COLOMBIAN MANUSCRIPT TOWN CANCELS. ONE OF THE LARGEST OF ITS KIND EVER OFFERED.

The majority of post offices in Colombia did not have handstamps, so they were pen-cancelled with the name of the town in manuscript. In many cases there is not enough of the cancel on the stamp to determine the town or the writing is illegible. When the town name is decipherable (such as the examples in this collection) they are highly sought-after by specialists. This is the largest collection of these we have seen and likely one of the finest ever offered.
