VERY FINE. A RARE KOREAN UNDERPAID DOMESTIC COVER USING PAIRS OF THE 1895 5-POON AND 10-POON STAMPS.
Oiesen was a well-known Danish Ambassador who was even appointed British Consul in Korea. He was based in Korea from 1899-1900. He spent over 40 years holding various positions in Chinese Customs and even as Danish Ambassador to Beijing. He was awarded Korean nobility in 1891, recognized by Emperor of China in 1904 and held a few Danish titles.

VERY FINE. AN EXCEPTIONAL FRANKING OF THE 1900 ONE-POON ON 5-POON STAMP IN BOTH LISTED SHADES -- GREEN AND PALE YELLOW GREEN WHICH WAS ISSUED BUT NOT AUTHORIZED FOR USE.
Without question, while a philatelic use, this is a remarkable cover. Scott only prices No. 16A used at $550.00 for a used single. No. 16Ab is only priced mint at $1,050.00 (compared to $975.00 for No. 16A). The Scott value for used singles (using just the No. 16A value) is $11,000.00.
