312 og ImageGERMAN EAST AFRICA, 1916, 2-1/2h-1r "Wuga" Provisionals (41 Footnote; Michel IIIW2, IIIS, IVW1, V). Six items, two 2-1/2h se-tenant pairs, one vertical and other horizontal, both lightly toned, two 7-1/2h se-tenant horizontal pairs, lightly toned and one block of four with selvage at bottom and horizontal se-tenant pairs and 1r with selvage at left, small tear at top, the latter two items without the usual toning associated with this issue, Very Fine and rare, produced by Evangelical Mission in Wuga by German East African authorities due to low supplies of current stamps, these were buried (to prevent capture by British) and recovered in 1922 with about 5-10% survival rate due to climate conditions, few low values signed, 1r with 1962 Pfenninger certificate, Michel €3,670 (Image)
