ISRAEL, 1948, 1,000m Dark Blue on Bluish Paper, Perf 11, Imperforate Tab Base (Bale 9a). Tab single, unused (no gum), wonderfully bright and fresh, well-centered

VERY FINE. AN ATTRACTIVE EXAMPLE OF THE 1,000-MIL DOAR IVRI WITH IMPERFORATE TAB BASE. APPROXIMATELY TEN RECORDED.

The usual tabs have two parts separated by a row of perforations. A small number were produced without the perforations.

ISRAEL, 1948, 3m-1,000m Doar Ivri, Minister Sheet (Bale 1-9). 3m-250m perf 11, 500m and 1,000m perf 10 x 10, all values perf 10 at base of tabs, all affixed to the first Official Minister Sheet, with simulated first day postmark at bottom, stamps cleaned and re-affixed, 250m reperfed at right, certificate mentions a few crumpled perfs between stamp and tab of 1,000m, Very Fine and attractive, about 30-40 sheets were printed by Ha'aretz, but there was a shortage of some values, so they had to use printer's waste on some, and quickly perforated them with the only machine they had, which was perforation size 10, they also had to perforate the base of each value to fit in its space on the sheet. This accounts for the rarity (and generally poor centering) of the perf 10 x 10 stamps, with 1992 Tsachor certificate (Image)
