CAPE OF GOOD HOPE, Vryburg, 1900, -1/2p Green, Overprint Reading Down (N5 var; SG 11 var). Tied on piece by complete May 16, 1919 Vryburg circular datestamp, manuscript (monogram?) at top right, fresh color

FINE. ONLY SIX HAVE BEEN RECORDED WITH THE OVERPRINT READING DOWN.

Only 100 of the -1/2p Vryburg stamps were issued. Nearly all of them had the overprint reading up. Only a small fraction received the downward overprint. Just six have been recorded, all used.
