EXTREMELY FINE GEM. THIS SPECTACULAR MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1914 7-CENT BLACK, SCOTT 407, HAS BEEN GRADED SUPERB 98 BY P.S.E. THIS IS THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED.
With 1988 P.F. and 2013 P.S.E. certificates (Superb 98; SMQ $3,600.00). This is the highest grade awarded and only three others share it (Image)
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. THIS MAGNIFICENT MINT NEVER-HINGED GUIDE LINE PAIR IS GRADED GEM 100 BY P.S.E. -- THIS IS THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED AND THE ONLY EXAMPLE TO ACHIEVE IT.
It is difficult enough for a single stamp to achieve the feat of grading 100. When the same grading standard is applied to a pair, and then that sub-set is reduced even further to guide line pairs, then the rarity of this item can be appreciated.
With 2009 P.S.E. certificate (Gem 100; SMQ $3,500.00). This is the highest grade awarded and no others share this grade. (Image)
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A BEAUTIFUL MINT NEVER-HINGED GUIDE LINE PAIR OF THE 1912 2-CENT HORIZONTAL COIL, SCOTT 413.
With 1999 P.F. certificate (Image)
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1912 8-CENT PERF 12 SINGLE-LINE WATERMARK ISSUE, WHICH IS GRADED SUPERB 98 JUMBO BY P.S.E.
With 2011 P.S.E. certificate (Superb 98 Jumbo; SMQ $2,250.00). Only two have graded higher and three others share this grade. This is the highest grade we have offered in one of our auctions, and the first in this grade we have offered since 2008 (Image)
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. THIS MAGNIFICENT EXAMPLE OF THE 1914 9-CENT PERF 12 SINGLE-LINE WATERMARK ISSUE IS GRADED GEM 100 JUMBO BY P.S.E. -- THIS IS THE HIGHEST GRADE POSSIBLE ON THE GRADING CHART AND IT IS THE ONLY EXAMPLE TO ACHIEVE IT.
This was the first 9c stamp issued as part of the Washington-Franklin series, and was intended for use especially on parcel post packages after the discontinuance of special stamps for that purpose. It was in use for approximately six months before the perforation gauge was changed from 12 to 10.
With 2013 P.S.E. certificate (Gem 100 Jumbo; unpriced in SMQ above the grade of 100, SMQ $5,000.00 as 100). This is the highest grade possible on the grading chart and no others have achieved it. Only four others have graded higher than 95, demonstrating how difficult it is to obtain this issue in higher grades. (Image)
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A BEAUTIFUL MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1912 12-CENT CLARET BROWN, SCOTT 417.
With 1996 P.F. and 2007 P.S.E. certificates (Superb 98; SMQ $1,850.00). Only three have graded higher and five others share this grade. (Image)
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A MAGNIFICENT MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1912 15-CENT PERF 12 SINGLE-LINE WATERMARK ISSUE. THIS SUPERB STAMP HAS BEEN AWARDED THE ULTIMATE GRADE OF GEM 100 JUMBO BY P.S.E. -- SIMPLY PERFECTION.
Ex Dr. Morris and Whitman. With 1992 P.F. and 2008 P.S.E. certificates (Gem 100 Jumbo; unpriced in SMQ above the grade of 100, SMQ $4,800.00 as 100). This is the highest grade possible on the grading chart and only one other has achieved it. None are "near-misses", as there are none graded 100. (Image)
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1914 20-CENT FRANKLIN, WHICH IS GRADED SUPERB 98 BY P.S.E. THIS IS A DIFFICULT ISSUE TO OBTAIN IN SUCH SUPERB CONDITION.
This is the first 20c stamp to be issued in the Washington-Franklin series, and was intended for use especially on parcel post packages after the discontinuance of special stamps for that purpose. It was in use for approximately six months before the perforation gauge was changed from 12 to 10.
With 2005 P.S.E. certificate (Superb 98; SMQ $4,750.00). Only two have graded higher and one other shares this grade. (Image)
