1546 on cover imageJava. 2 Sen from the first Showa series, General Nogi, in pair on Dutch East Indies military fieldpost card, written (typewriter, message concerns family and acquaintances matters) on 16-7-2603 (place blackened by the censor), from Mohammad Said to H. Anwarbarak, stamps cancelled Soerabaja 11.8.03, and locally sent. Written in red pencil ‘Keliroe nama / Kembali’ (= wrong name / return), thus returned to sender in Soerabaja 12.8.03. Very rare usage of Japanese stamps, not available in post offices, however allowed for franking. Illustrated in DN catalogue on p.74. Exhibition item! (Image)
