Worldwide Internet/Mail Sale - March 22, 2023

Welcome to our March 22, 2023 auction. This is our 361st auction since we started running our sales back in 1972. There is a terrific array of worldwide material with over 6,900 lots to choose from. All lots have low starting prices and bidding is in inexpensive Canadian dollars. Here are some of the highlights:
  • Excellent section of Canada with singles, sets, blocks, imperforates and errors. The 19th Century has many scarce items including 50 lots of Pence issues; Jubilees to $5; a great selection of 2-ring and 4-ring numeral cancels; and many nice Plate Proofs.
  • A good selection of Great Britain with many key stamps including a rare mint example of #O71 with Certificate.
  • Interesting section of Italy with scarce singles and sets. Don't miss the 1930's-40's Italian postcards with a wide variety of designs.
  • Strong group of classic United States with many scarce items most of which have Certificates. There are also many nice back-of-the-book lots including Revenues, Shanghai, Confederate States and Hawaii.
  • Extensive worldwide covers, postal history and postcards. There are many pockets of interesting items including Karl Lewis illustrated covers, pioneer aviation postcards and military covers.
  • Good Br. Commonwealth with strong sections of St. Helena, New Zealand, India, Australia, and Bermuda. Many nice Gibbons listed varieties can be found in the KGV and KGVI eras.
  • Lots of good Belgium, France and Colonies, Germany and related areas, and Netherlands.
  • Hundreds of larger size lots including boxes full, stocks, collections and accumulations. These should prove useful to collectors and dealers alike.

Don't forget that there is No Buyer's Fee at Vance Auctions. There is no extra charge for credit card use. Bidding information displayed at Stamp Auction Network for our auction lots is now being updated. Bidding on items in the sale will continue until Midnight EST on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

Please note that bids come in from many sources in addition to SAN (including e-mail, telephone, fax, mail, and our own web site). Even if your bid is 'green' at SAN when bidding ends, you could still be outbid. If your bid turns 'red' after Midnight on the last night of bidding, it means that a higher bid was received from another source before Midnight. Auction results for Sale #361 will be posted at www.vanceauctions.com on the evening of Saturday, March 25th.
