Asia, Tail-End of an Outstanding Consignment, 1883-1970s, wide-ranging and appealing assortment of collections and accumulations from across the continent, offered in binders, boxes (most material 1950s-60s), and more; represented are Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Korea, Laos, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam with some French Indo-China; boxed material all in glassines and fully identified, mostly mint with numerous blocks; Philippines with Spanish and Independence issues along with First Day Covers mainly from the 1960s; India a hinged collection on homemade pages plus additional in glassines; Indonesia post-independence; strongest holdings are mint hinged Cambodia and Laos collections with many pairs and blocks, some souvenir sheets, etc., Laos with many of the sought-after sets (First Issue, Musical Instruments, Buddhism, Royalty) present; Vietnam mostly mint 1951-56 plus South Vietnam in glassines, and mostly used Thailand collection 1883-1940; condition varies, but overwhelmingly clean and sound, Very Fine on the whole, a boon for collector and dealer alike; get a flavor from our online images. Asia, Nice Postal History Selection, ca. 1895-1960, ranging from Edwardian Hong Kong to pre-revolutionary Vietnam, with a wonderful range of material along the way; note Chinese 1922 Foochow local cover and 1930 Airmail cover Changsha to Shanghai, Hong Kong through King George VI, strong Japan including early incoming mail from the US (one cover with forwarding address slips still attached), nice Thailand with one cover with Official Seal, Macao, Manchukuo; colorful Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam (the last including a First Flight Cover Saigon to Jakarta), a couple Indochina covers, etc., etc.; both local and overseas uses (one from the US with endorsement "Deliver in Mid-Ocean"), with attractive frankings throughout; also included are a couple used stamps or souvenir sheets, three Japanese Postal Savings books (20 ½s stamps each), plus two Japanese cash remittance receipts, one for 1.8 oz. of silver, plus three hand-written letters sent care of the American Consul in Hong Kong about the Japanese invasion and occupation; a most appealing lot, Fine to Very Fine with better, fully imaged online.
