2137   image"Color Chart" of 19th Century Issues, An album containing more than 200, mostly used stamps on 20 album pages, each stamp identified by shade, in the opinion of whomever formed the collection. Included are 48x 3¢ 1851 (10/11A), including 7 different shades of plum, from light to dull; 28x 3¢ 1861 (64/65) including two singles & a pair of "pinks" (all faulty or VG); 13x 5¢ 1861-67 (67/76), 22x 24¢ 1861-67 (70/78), Bank Note Issues: 1¢ (18), 3¢ (24), 15¢ (9) and 48x 2¢ First Bureaus (248/279Bc), including 9 mint. Also includes pdues J1//65 and First Issue Revenues: 5¢ & 10¢ reds and 50¢ blues;. Condition, as you'd expect on a collection of stamps chosen almost excusively for shade, varies widely, but still a valuable reference guide to help the novice identify the myriad variations of color found in these early issues.
