LotNo. Symbol CatNo. Lot Description
2453   imageFrance, "La Philatélie Classique" First-class Classic Collection, 1798-1900, What could very easily be referred to as a reference collection, two Lindner albums handsomely presenting the Ceres & Napoleon Heads along with the Peace & Commerce issue and the many color varieties as listed in the Scott classic. Entirely used except for one stamp, the 1871 Napoleon Head surcharged 10c with o.g. (#49). Other highlights include five stampless covers, one of which is a 1798 cover from the French Army in Italy addressed to the Minister of War in Paris, and the following main listings along with quantities: #2, 3 (4), 6 (pair on piece), 7 (2), 9 (4, including single-franking on cover), 10 (2), 12 (3), 13 (5), 16-17 (2), 19 (pair), 20 (4), 21 (2), 24, 31 (2), 37 (2), 38 (2), 39-40, 41 (3), 42 (4), 44 (2), 46 (4), 47 (3), 48 (4), 52 (6), 54, 64-65 (2), 66-67 (3), 72 (3), 74 (5), 79 (2), 83 (3), 89 (4), 94 (4), 96 (14), 102 (6), 108 (2). And that's just the first volume! Dozens more in volume two with an overall catalogue value of astronomical proportions, generally Fine to Very Fine or better with the vast majority of imperfs sporting four margins and numerous pretty CDSs on the Sage issue, collection is completely viewable online. Shipping charges apply - weight 8.4 lbs. (PDF for this Lot) (Image)

2455   imageFrance, "Counter Offer" Mint Souvenir Sheets, Booklets & Blocks in Counter Books, 1943-2021, Housed in seven counter books, incredible mint stock made up almost entirely of souvenir sheets, booklets and se-tenant blocks & strips right up almost to the present day. Some better earlier material, like #B157a (3), complete booklets of B274a (2), B282a (2), B291a (3), B301a, B309a (3), B318a (3), and the Polar Bear sheet from the Légion des Volontaires Français contre le Bolchevisme (Yvert #1), but the emphasis is unquestionably on the modern era, with many items in duplication but not crazy amounts, normally just one or two extras. One book can be viewed online, but be sure to check out our other offerings, as this is just part of the vast holdings from a former stamp dealer on the West Coast, whose meticulous work in organizing and identifying each item, along with condition and catalogue value, makes this an ideal lot for the reseller as all the work has already been done, Fine to Very Fine, at least $11,000 in total cat with additional high face count. 2456   imageFrance, Nearly Complete Mostly Used Collection, 1849-1976, A Scott Specialty album with another one of those collections which is easier to list the stamps not present, because it's almost all here. Sans the souvenir sheets, the only other empty spots for the general issues are Scott #4, 8, 17, 43, 49 & 71! For back-of-the-book, the only vacancies are B10, three airmail stamps, and a small handful of postage dues. Just a few mint along the way, most notably 197 (with Sismondo certificate), 246, B12-19, C1-2. And when you're viewing the scans, it's no accident that the majority of early issues are well-centered with light cancels; the collector obviously went out of their way to obtain the finest examples possible making this one very special collection indeed, overall Fine to Very Fine.
