2387   imageAustria, Mostly Mint Collection with Highly Specialized Classics, 1829-1992, Let's get right to the MVP of this lot, which is a binder containing approximately 1,000 stamps from the 1850 Coat of Arms issue; a highly specialized collection identifying the plates, colors and types of paper (hand-made vs. machine) with the majority indicated by Michel number. Some high-price items include a used 6kr with hand-made and horizontally-ribbed paper (Scott #4a with certificate), and another mint #4, also with hand-made paper and o.g. Many other better including easily 100 more of this same issue under Lombardy-Venetia along with subsequent issues, many organized by town cancel from such places as Lonigo, Monza, Padova, Udine, and, of course, Venezia. More Lombardy-Venetia with five stampless covers, a set of MNH reprints of the Coat of Arms, and a reference book entitled The Post Office Town List for the Austro-Hungarian Empire by Thomas Tenczer.
