1034 cover South America 1928 image1928, Doolittle Test Flights, complete set of five covers, all signed "J.H. Doolittle"; flown Lima-La Paz, La Paz-Santiago; Santiago-Buenos Aires; Buenos Aires-Asuncion and Asuncion-Rio de Janeiro; each with appropriate postage, handstamped cahet and receiving datestamp, though the two Asuncion legswere mis-marked for Montevideo, despite the Paraguayan stamp and Asuncion postmark; on this set the "Montevideo" was scratched out of the cachets and overwritten with "Asuncion". Includes a newspaper clipping about the covers - noting 450 were flown on each leg - from Aug 1942, Very Fine.
