To fully appreciate this lot please view as our descriptions barely does justice to the many more both scarce and rare stamps not mentioned with values in the hundreds or even thousands of pounds in S.G. The break-up value of this holding is significant, and the overall high quality will enhance the realization. If you wish to start a Great Britain collection, then this is the perfect one for you. Quality is extremely nice for many issues that are often found wanting. We note a few faults but overall Fine to Very Fine or better. Shipping charges apply - weight 1.6 lbs. 264   imageGreat Britain, "Head Hunter" Highly Specialised Machin Head Collection, 1967-99, Since the stamp's debut in 1967, the sculpted profile of QEII, Britain's longest-reigning monarch, has been printed over 200 billion times making it quite simply the most reproduced piece of art in the history of the world. Despite these high numbers, some are actually quite scarce as specialists collect a wide range of varieties far beyond the colours and perforations including printing methods, types, gum & phosphor varieties, etc. This lovely homemade collection on quadrille pages has stamps ranging from the 10½p to 20p, each in a black mount and meticulously identified along with catalogue number referencing the Deegam Handbook. As a bonus, a collection of FDCs for the pre-decimal Machins including the "Stamps for Cooks" booklet along with various se-tenant combinations. 268   imageLundy, "Puffin Crossing" Comprehensive Mint Collection with Collateral, 1929-2010, Although almost everyone is familiar with Lundy and the stamps that made the island famous, very few of us have seen the likes of a lot such as this one. Consulting Labbe's Specialized Guide to Lundy Island Stamps (2009 Edition) or Stamps & Postal History of Lundy Island (6th Edition) by Jon Aitchison, both books of which are included in this lot, everything seems to be here including a lot of very scarce material, such as the Atlantic Coast Air Services issue from 1935, the "1929-1935" and Red Cross overprints on the Puffin issue, or the Tighearna souvenir sheet of 1942 both imperf and perfed with gold overprint. In addition to this collection, numerous covers, a binder of presentation packs from the 1950s until 2006, a stockbook of duplicates, a separate album published by the Lundy Stamp Bureau in 1976, and other publications including books & booklets on the island itself, such as Lundy: Isle of Puffins and Lundy's War: Memories of 1939-1945, as well as many other pamphlets and newspaper clippings. Collectors of the Channel Islands will not want to miss this one! generally Fine to Very Fine, video flips viewable online. Shipping charges apply - weight 35.2 lbs.
