251   image1932, Los Angeles Olympics Ticket Specimens, an exquisite presentation of 81 different tickets (of 82), each with printed "Specimen" in red and two security hole punches, starting with an Official Pass, a Press Pass, and two different Olympic Stadium Passes good for all games in the Stadium (a whopping $22!), followed by tickets for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, along with day- or time-specific tickets (the latter for morning, afternoon or evening matches) for each event: Track & Field, Field Hockey, American Football (who knew?), Lacrosse, Gymnastics, Equestrian Sports, Swimming, Boxing, Weightlifting, Wrestling, and Rowing; event-specific tickets with rouletted "Gate Check" counterfoil still attached and with location of the event printed on reverse; also included is the original book from which the tickets were removed, noted on spine "Specimen Tickets/Xth. Olympiad/Los Angeles 1932" and presented to J.G. Newcomb; backs with evidence of glue used to affix them to the album pages, a couple with a small toned spot, but a splendid holding of exquisite engravings, and unlikely to be seen again anytime soon; a must-have for the Olympics enthusiast, especially as so little ephemera exists from these games, held in the depths of the Great Depression.
