Many scarcer plate numbers noted by the consignor, and one could only guess at the enormous amount of face this lot carries, generally Fine to Very Fine, additional images online. Loads of plate blocks and booklet panes, scores of higher denominations, from $1 to numerous express mails, and a ton of pre-1935 MNH. You won't want to use all of it as postage, and some of it you can't, like postage dues and officials, but these are the kind of face lots which get underestimated. For someone with a little bit of free time, we welcome you to visit our air-conditioned facility and estimate the total face for yourself. We'll even provide the coffee to keep you awake! generally Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 72 lbs. (Image)

146   image"Face Recognition" Massive Plate Block Collection, 1924-2003, In nine large albums, blocks, blocks and more blocks, the core with plate number but also Zip Code (1964-93), Mail Early in the Day (1968-77), and Copyright (1978-94) inscription blocks. And with the exception of #1053, everything else after 1940 seems to be here in one shape or form. Better plate blocks include #627-29, 637-42, 634-44, 646-47, 649-50, 654-55, 670, 692-701, 740-49, 756-65, 771, 803-32, 859-93, 2870, E14, QE1-3. From the looks of it, there could be $5,000 or more in face as many mounts house multiple blocks covering the various plate positions. Some occasional sticking was noticed but in almost all instances appeared to be separable without damage. An excellent lot, whether recognized at face value or the block collection as it was meant to be, Fine to Very Fine, additional images online. Shipping charges apply - weight 77 lbs. 147   image"Knee-Deep in Plate Blocks" Enormous Organized Plate Block Holding, 1920s-91, In 47 boxes of varying size and 9 mint sheet folders, some singles and full sheets, but for the most a highly organized plate block holding, the vast majority in glassines labeled with catalogue number. A lot of this is even broken down further listing the plate numbers on the outside of the glassine along with the letters A, B, C & D designating the four plate positions. Mostly 25¢ and below, but it's amazing how this stuff adds up. 13¢ may not sound like a lot, but one mint sheet folder alone had 75 sheets of the 1976 State Flags issue. You do the math. Or how about over 40 plate blocks of the $1 Airlift? And that's actually a low quantity in comparison with others, Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 255 lbs. (Image)

Estimate $3,000-4,000
SOLD for $4,000.00
Will close during Public Auction
148   image"Guessing Game" High Value Face Lot, 1926-2009, A box of mint in envelopes and glassines consisting of singles, blocks, plate blocks, booklets and a binder of modern self-adhesive coil strips. And this is not your usual mix of 3 & 4 cent stamps; a good chunk of this is from the 1990s onward with even higher denominations noticed, like 20 copies of the $2 Kerosene Lamp (#1611) or a plate block of the $17.50 Express Mail (#4379). A hefty profit awaits the person brave enough to come in and do a rough count, overall Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 20.2 lbs. (Image)

150   imageMore Than Just a Face Value Lot, 1923-97, What on the surface appears to be just another face lot actually has many surprises tucked away. Two metal boxes, one with booklets, the other with plate blocks, both crammed so tight with glassines you can barely pull one out. A cigar box of mint, three mint sheets files, various folders and album pages, and the rest in one big pile. One thing we can all agree on is that there is a ton of face here, but also many premium items, some of which include coil line pairs of #600-03, 656, 723, 839-51, two strips of three with plate # of 1891, booklets BK84, BK98, BKC1 (with an additional pane of C10a), plate blocks of six of C11, C21-22, E11, E12, E14, and plate blocks of four of 833-34, 1053, C25-31, J88 (2), J89-104, O133, R733-34, etc. As potent as that lineup is, the bulk of the value is in the face count, so consequently, this lot should be inspected on the premises, Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 29 lbs. (PDF for this Lot) (Image)

Mostly in the 10¢ to 15¢ range, the mint sheets alone total over $1,500 in face, and that's not even the half of it, literally! There's a giant tub of glassines with mostly blocks and many higher denominations, and five glassine boxes packed with many 1000's of plate blocks. Whatever the total amount of face is, it's easily worth it at our estimate, generally Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 58 lbs. (Image)

Estimate $2,000-3,000
SOLD for $1,400.00
Will close during Public Auction
154   imageAbout Face, Forward March! 1940-2020, 14 mint files, 28 uncut press sheets, and a few stray items; vast majority are minisheets above 25¢ and in post office condition, very little strips or blocks noted, mild to moderate duplication with better commemoratives and a few hundred Forever stamps noted; several 39¢ Zazzle sheets including three to honor the American Philatelic Society; uncut press sheets include 2869 (3), 3068, 3130-3132 (3), 3137, 3138, 3142, 3168-3172, 3209-3210, 3333-3337, 3408 (2), 3409-3413 (2), 3505 (3), 4221, 4905c (2), and 5097 (4); 1977 Queen's Silver Jubilee White Ace collection complete; Minkus Comprehensive World Wide Stamp Album with a thousand mint and used; and a few other pleasant surprises; $3,800 Face, Fine to Very Fine. 155   image"Panes-taking" Collection of Complete Booklets & Panes, 1917-2020, This collection of complete booklets and booklet panes on stocksheets in four binders will more than likely be gobbled up as a face value lot, but the previous owner painstakingly labeled each entry with catalogue number, denomination, stamp description, year and additional information when applicable, such as perf, tagging, slogan, etc. Better booklets include #BK53, BK103, BK110-13, BKC1 (including an additional pane of C10a), BKC4a, and even some better in the modern era, like BK140B, BK148, BK159 (with an additional pane of 2283c). But there's no denying that there is a ton of face here with many of them in duplication and lots of Forevers too. So will it be someone looking for postage or a collector taking this holding to the next level? generally Fine to Very Fine, video flips viewable online. Shipping charges apply - weight 19 lbs. Some presorts & nonprofits, but value here too with an abundance of PNCs. A flip of a typical book is online to give you an idea how much this lot has in store, overall Very Fine.
