Italy 1861-1970., three stockbooks, very powerful mint/used and mint never hinged collector accumulation, all in quantities including the better issues, 1 stockbook used, 1 mint and 1 mnh, including 1861 issue and 1862 issue multiple, 1863/77 mint/unused better values multiple, 1879: 30c brown used (3x) and mint in quantities, high values 2 lire and 5 lire in quantities, 1901 issue mint with 40c and 50c multiple, 1922 congresso multiple, 1923 Manzoni to 5 lire mint, 20/30's in massive quantities incl. the high values, airmails, also Back of Book and some Territories, in 3 exploding stockbooks. Incredible catalogue value!!! The collector was planning to be a trader and fell short of his dream, pick up where he left off and cash in on his miserly hoard, generally Fine to Very Fine. Italy, Bel Paese Postal History Compilation, 1860s-1970s, well in excess of 200 covers, fronts, pieces, post- and postal cards in total, grouped by subject or time period, ranging from early 1862 Kingdom items through nostalgia-inducing picture post cards from the 1970s; very little philatelic here, the overwhelming majority having gone through the mails for all the usual reasons; a myriad of frankings, cancels and markings, both domestic and foreign, are present, offering the serious student some serious study; includes advertising/illustrated covers, Censors, ship and "Paquebot" cancels, Offices and Colonies, a few San Marino and Vatican (the latter including two using one or more overprinted issues), WWII-era Regno del Sud, Regency, RSI, AMGs (FTT, VG, general) and Military; WWI POW cards, etc., etc., etc., with many picture post cards of both Italy and colonial views (not always their own) to spice things up a bit; standard condition for a lot such as this, but plenty of attractive and saleable material, generally Fine to Very Fine. Italy, Bellisimi Francobolli Collection, 1851-1949, spanning Italian States to post-WWII Allied Occupations, all presented in two springback albums (one an F.G. Kent) on beautifully annotated quadrille pages; pre-WWI a mix of mint and used, most all mint hinged thereafter; States offer shades, at least one pre-printing paperfold, and a nice mix of cancels, along with a Roman/Papal States 6Baj. printed on both sides (possibly an Essay); solid issues from the Kingdom including two full offset on reverse, with post-war items featuring sought-after sets including Blackshirts, Manzoni, surcharged Victories, and the ever-popular sets of the 1920s and 1930s along with Parcel Posts, Pneumatics, Postage Dues and more, even three Essays—two for 1906 Milan International Exposition (imperforate with perfined "SPECIMEN") and 1911 Commemorative Festivities for the Proclamation of the Kingdom; WWII-era includes a British Propaganda issue, definitives with labels, Allied Military Occupations including Venezia-Giulia and Trieste, Socialist Republic 75c block of four with inverted overprint, Campione Commune issues, etc.; wonderfully fresh and sound-appearing throughout, one album with owner's stamp on board (Maj. Italy, Military Postal Card Collection, 1915-1918, 200 Great War postal cards sent by Italian soldiers stored in a pair of Lighthouse binders; most appear to be correspondence from one soldier in the 86th Regiment to family in Milano, also includes several letters (written in Italian) without envelopes; beautiful marcophaly and military markings; the soldier was taken prisoner so about 50 or so are POW stationery; also 100 premium mint postcards from the same period in Italy in sets; includes La Boheme scenes (set of 8), shields and family crests (8), notible figures and generals (39), musical scores (3), toy figures in scenes (30), Shakespeare scenes (10); a powerful war story and elegant postcards from the period, Fine to Very Fine.
