First Flight FAM 14, 1937, 8x10 Postmaster General embossed envelope (corner card hidden by stamps) autographed by PMG James A Farley and addressed to Amon G Carter in Hong Kong; somewhat overfranked (42 stamps amounting to $15 postage!) with Scott # C21-C22 blocks, blocks with plate numbers, and plate blocks; the reverse has a beautifully struck San Francisco to Hong Kong blue cachet as well as a receiving mark in Victoria, Fine to Very Fine. Cavernous Carter Cover, 1939, it took an 8x10 Postmaster General embossed envelope to hold 41 stamps totally $9.41; autographed by PMG James A Farley, this unique item left New York on June 24 and is marked FIRST FLIGHT-PAN AMERICAN AIRWAYS and NORTHERN ROUTE with 1st NY to London in pencil; on this date the Yankee Clipper made the first Trans-Atlantic mail run to Southampton (FAM 18), in this case the only receiving mark in on return to the US when it reached Amon Carter's hometown of Ft Worth; Wow, Fine to Very Fine.
