980   imageWorldwide, Spectacular I.G.Y. Topical Collection, 1957-58, Anything and everything related to the International Geophysical Year of 1957-58 in covers and stamps. The absolute breadth of this collection will knock your socks off with over 1,000 virtually all-different covers, a mint collection in a specially-made Ayal album, complete sheets in a mint sheet folder, and two stockbooks with more related material. There are covers sent from the American, Australian, Belgian, and Chilean Antarctic bases among others, Falkland Island Dependencies with postmarks from various locations, such as Admiralty Bay, Deception Island and Port Lockroy, a binder with Canada #376 and just about every I.G.Y. cachet imaginable, and the same goes for U.S. #1107 including a plate block signed by the artist. Some better stamps include Belgium B605a (2), also as FDC, an imperforate imprint block of ten of Bulgaria C76, French Southern & Antarctic Territory 8-10 & C1 on cover and postmarked in Kerguelen, maxi-cards of C1-2, blocs coin date as well as deluxe sheets of 8-10, seven die proofs from various French Colonies signed by the artists, and U.S.S.R. 1767a with two mint, one FDC and one with 1962 overprint as footnoted in Scott. Some interesting collateral material, such as patches from Amundsen-Scott Station and McMurdo, a 30th Anniversary coin from McMurdo in 1987, and various Rocketmail covers, souvenir sheets and other vignettes.
