Accumulations & Assortments
LotNo. Symbol CatNo. Lot Description
921   imageWorldwide, Massive Collector Accumulation of Better Mint Singles & Sets, 1850's-1990's. If you enjoy working with stamps whether you are a dealer or collector, please take the time to view this lot in person or the many dozens of scans available online. It is certainly one of the most interesting, worldwide in scope, lots that we have had the pleasure to offer. It was formed by a clearly passionate collector with very deep pockets who loved mint stamps in superior quality. It is housed in five cartons which are packed with 20 long red boxes with #102 size cards with singles and sets, Album pages, Original intact Auction lots, 2 flat boxes also overflowing, retail purchases on cards and much more. The scans will give you an idea of the outstanding material present and the significant amount of stamps and sets valued from $100. to over $1000. each that are in abundance.
Unlike dealer stocks that are often loaded with Hawaii-value off-quality 19th century this collector formed holding contains literally only a handful of stamps with any faults out of many many thousands. The criterion was to buy N.H. or original gum sets and singles in F.-V.F. or better quality. Also, it is readily noticed that many of the better items also include a plethora of varieties.
Sections include very strong British Empire with Barbados, British Guiana, Ceylon, St. Helena, Kuwait, India and States and more. In most countries present you will find 20th century runs of mint N.H. with strong Q.E. II sets up to the 1990's plus, of course, better quality earlier key sets and singles. France and French Colonies are well represented with Algeria including a nice collection of Parcel Post issues, Martinique, New Hebrides (French), Tunisia, Reunion, Cilicia, France with specialized booklets and also strong Parcel Post issues.
Included are Portugal and Colonies with worthwhile Azores, Angola, Macao plus others, Excellent Nepal, Section of imperf sets of Laos and Cambodia. Vietnam Democratic Republic has a box of mint sets and virtually all perf and imperf versions of several hundred sets plus another Vietnam group of mixed mint with some used.
We note a box of only Swedish mint complete booklets, Spanish Colonies including better Provisional issues, key sets of Greece on pages, Great Latvia and Estonia, Spanish Morocco, Iraq, Palestine, Shanghai, Germany, Switzerland and too much more to mention. Shipping charges apply - weight 83 lbs.
The collector reused many 102 cards, so on a few cards we indicated current Scott numbers often written next to an old Scott value at a fraction of the current Scott value. The Scott values on the non-reused cards are often 30 to 40 years old and again often very modest compared to 2023 values. A perfect collection for online retail, auction sales or a fun project to assimilate into your collection. A huge Scott value and retail will be relatively easy to unlock as almost all is identified by Scott numbers. Don't miss this one. (PDF for this Lot) (Image)

The Windsor collector formed this holding with minor duplication and over 100 countries with significant 20th century runs from earlier material through the 1990's. A very significant quantity of sets and singles valued over $100. each and only a portion are scanned so viewing is a worthwhile pleasure to fully appreciate the depth of this lot. All is housed in eight packed banker boxes.
The holding is too large to list all of the highlights but to give you an idea of one country, Iran, here is a partial listing by Scott numbers: 3a margin copy $225., 59 $150., 136-1511 $787., 169a $175., 422-427 $345., 543-549 $920., 621 $250., 786-794 $118., 870A to 870E perf + imperf sheets $528., 978-982 $157., 1023-1026 $492., 1372-1387 $94., C65 $225., C29-C33 $265., 041-057 $142., Certainly, Iran is one of the better countries but there are numerous others Shipping charges apply - weight 141 lbs.
including Fiume, French Colonies, Greece, France, Panama. Belgium, Yemen, Morocco, North Vietnam, Bhutan plus too many more to mention. We note excellent South America with many varieties and mainly purchased from a knowledgeable specialist dealer, Good European sections often with complete Booklets. Trucial States with good earlier issues, British Empire with some early material and a huge amount of new issues from early QEII up to the 1990's. The overall face value alone is many many thousands of dollars in this massive collection. This lot is so large that we did not have time to scan all the better items. The collector reused many sales pages so that the Scott value is often too low or 30 years out of date and many additional highlights will be discovered that eluded us. A perfect lot for online sales or to augment your Worldwide Collection. Condition is exceptional with very few faults and most all is in Fine to Very Fine or better, o.g. or N.H. quality. 937   imageWorldwide, Mint & Used Accumulation with Better France, U.S. & Others, Albums, stockbooks, and boxes filled with 1000's upon 1000's of stamps, but unlike many accumulations, this one is quite organized. There's still plenty to sort through, with a box of loose worldwide stamps and another with covers, but much of the work has been done, such as three red boxes and a glassine file of mint/used France labeled by catalogue number with modern mint into the 2010s, three boxes of #10-sized envelopes with used worldwide organized by country, a glassine file of mostly mint Ireland, and various collections, like a complete collection of mint Netherlands New Guinea on hingeless Lindner pages including the UNTEA issue for West New Guinea, a stockbook of complete mint for Christmas Island (1958-79) in duplication, a binder from the Postal Commemorative Society for every U.S. FDC of 1995 and 100's more in a binder and box, a nearly complete worldwide mint collection celebrating the Bicentennial of Captain Cook's Discovery of Hawaii in 1978, a huge binder on Idaho postal history with over 200 covers and 100's of cut-out postmarks arranged by town, a stockbook of mint from the U.S. Trust Territories and a binder of Palau souvenir pages, and so much more. Better individual items throughout, for example, United States #648 (MNH block of 4), PS15, U227 Wells Fargo Express cover used in Idaho Territory, Canal Zone mint J14, Hawaii unused postal cards UX1 (2), UX3, UX6, UX9, and used UX1 (2), Angola mint 362-81, France used 13 (4), 17, mint B276-81, C34-36, Japan full mint sheets of 325, 351-52 & others, Monaco mint 904a (4), 1024a (4), 1068a (2), etc. Personal inspection highly recommended for a lot such as this, but additional images are available online, generally Fine to Very Fine. 940   imageWorldwide, "Sheer Madness" Mint & Used Accumulation with Much U.S., U.N., Canada & Israel, 1840-1988, This particular consignor on the whole was very well organized and the other lots in this auction reflect this. But all of us have a stash that we plan to organize at some point but never get around to it. This is such a lot. Outside of a handful of albums, the rest is only semi-sorted with a large quantity of United States stamps and covers with many FDCs, for example, complete Presidential series except for $1, as well as first flights, philatelic show cancels, inauguration and other special event covers, and also a large amount postal stationery entires. Album pages in folders, boxes of loose stamps and stacks of souvenir sheets, 30 packs of the Bicentennial set alone. Also, a big presence of all three offices of the United Nations with many 100's of FDCs, inscription blocks, postal cards & envelopes, souvenir cards & folders, a mint sheet folder with full & partial sheets, and numerous mailings still with their original contents. Some better individual items noticed while rummaging through, such as mint Canada #53-59 on a manila stockcard, mint U.S. Q1-6, JQ3-5, QE1-4, and mint sets of People's Republic of China 606-09, 1076-79, 1091-94 in glassines, probably purchased for pennies way back when. This lot certainly will take a bit of organizing before the benefits can be reaped, but it will be well worth it, overall Fine to Very Fine, personal inspection highly recommended.
