LotNo. Symbol CatNo. Lot Description
3152 ng   image1871, Phantasy 25c Office Moreau Private Post for Paris Commune, unused without gum, fresh four-margined example cleanly printed, Very Fine.

Following the March 1871 insurrection, covers lacking stamps were paid in cash and marked "Port Payé". On May 4, the stamp printing office was partially reopened and issued stamps of 1c to 20c value, but the quantities provided proved insufficient, leading the Post Office to authorize private companies to deliver correspondence, the Moreau Agency being one of the first.
