Face Value Lots
LotNo. Symbol CatNo. Lot Description
2225   imageHuge Postage Dealer's Stock, 1979-2010, in 83 dealer counter books, impeccably annotated and arranged and retail priced by issue, with singles, plate blocks, booklets, larger se-tenant pieces, etc., the owner took great care to present items as they would be needed for each sort of album, making the filling of orders a breeze. The labor that was put into this would exceed the aggregate retail value. We took some time to carefully estimate / count the face value of each individual book. We didn't count precisely, but instead we quickly looked at each page and did a quick count of the stamps we could see there. Although we tried to get as precise of a number as possible, there is plenty of room for error when you see several large blocks stacked upon each other and you need to quickly determine if there are 4 or 6 blocks there without spending a bunch of time taking everything off of the pages. We estimated the total face value to exceed $19,000, o.g., mostly never hinged, Fine to Very Fine overall. Shipping charges apply - weight 91 lbs. (Image)

2229   imageFace Value Collection, 1935-2021, in 17 American Heirloom Collection of United States Stamps hingeless albums from Volume 2 to 18, with some premium stamps among the earlier issues including 803-34, 1030-53, 2870 Legends of the West error and 3138 without die cut. There is a massive amount of face value postage, starting around volume 4 (29c denomination), the collector started to include miniature sheets as well as the set into the collection, by the end of Volume 5 the collection contains occasional mint sheets of both singles and the pane of occasional issues, by the time to get to volume 6, the collector would often include his duplicates within the collection, so you may have duplicates of 3 to 4 panes of many of the issues, the second half of volume 11 to volume 18 contain almost exclusively Forever stamps, with duplicates. You are going to need to bring your calculator for this one, but you don't need to worry because most of the value is in High Denomination and Forever full panes, so counting should be easy., generally Fine to Very Fine. 2230   imageFace Value Postage Hoard, 1940s-98, of scrap and plate blocks, sorted by issue, then roughly sorted by denomination, with the following postage counts, which were not actually counted, but weighed, deducting for any glassines or cardboard to only count the stamps, and then estimated, a total face value estimate of $8,500 which we feel is pretty accurate, consisting of: 3¢ ($612), 4¢ ($422), 5¢ ($373), 6¢ ($307), 8¢ ($571), 10¢ ($712), 13¢ ($680), 15¢ ($804), 18¢ ($234), 20¢ ($707), 22¢ ($280), 25¢ ($322), 29¢ ($600), 32¢ ($604), 75 sets of 1976 American Bicentennial souvenir sheets ($322) and many miscellaneous definitive, priority, express and dollar value denominations, plus the various airmail denominations. We include the total so you can spot check, which may vary slightly from denomination to denomination, but as a whole will be reasonably accurate. Although we did not have the manpower to count each of these stamps to the penny, we have used this technique before to come up with surprisingly accurate result. When we calculated the above calculations, we used conservative numbers, so we expect there may be an upside on the postage count, o.g., mostly never hinged, generally Fine to Very Fine. 2231   image100-Year Face Value Hoard, 1910s-2010s, coming to us in three large boxes (before repacking) filled with stamps. The first box contains year sets in quantity from 1933 until 2014, with dealer made year sets until late 1960's followed by the USPS year sets. The second box is postage roughly sorted, mostly by denomination, with stamps from $0.10 to $5 with some priority and forever already counted in plastic mount containers, in addition there is a stock of modern stamps in small envelopes in two shoeboxes, with one box starting in the 1930's and continuing until the 1980's, the second shoebox contains stamps from early 1990's until 2010, yet another group is plate number strips of five on Scott specialty pages from the 1990's. The final box contains all of the random stuff which can be so much fun exploring, there are large imperf coil strips of 2¢ Washington, a folded up $3 Mars Rover press sheet, lots of glassines full of booklets, singles, souvenir sheets….whatever, there are large plastic envelopes packed with stamps from the 1990's to the forever rate, there is a group of dealer 102 cards (probably about 100-150 cards) filled with stamps from 1940 until nearly 2010, plus quite a bit more. The easier sections to figure will be the first and second boxes as they are at least sorted in a way to make counting easier. The final box will present a more challenging estimate because it really needs to be sorted before it can be counted. Plenty of value here which will quickly add up, Fine to Very Fine overall, We suggest taking a look at this lot in person to properly evaluate. Shipping charges apply - weight 47 lbs. (Image)

2234   imageMassive "Promotion" Face Value Accumulation, 1930s-2010s, from the early 3¢ purples to the Forever rate stamps, there is everything in here which this postage dealer had set aside to put into his stock. One section contained obvious promotion items, which typically sell for well above their face value, two more plastic bins contain stamps grouped by issue from the 1930's until the 2000's which was set aside to incorporate into stock because they are fast sellers. The remaining sections appear to be various partial sheets or album pages of stamps which were set aside to sort later. Face value is going to be tremendous here and with our highly proprietary dartboard of postage combined with our highly scientific dart of postage measuring, we are sure you find how accurate our proprietary scientific pricing model is., generally Fine to Very Fine, Due to the scattered nature of this lot, we highly recommend you view this lot. 2235   imageColossal Face Value Collection, late 1950s-2004, in six large Scott Specialty albums, with two albums of booklets and booklet panes and four albums of regular issues (although the first binder did not survive, so we only have pages for 1950's to mid-1990's issues). Due to the way the collector accumulated everything, you don't have many pages among the earlier issues, with the first 50 years from 1950's until mid-1990's in the first group of loose pages, after that, the post office start issuing so many of these mint sheets and booklets, the next ten years took the remaining three albums and the same appears to be true among the booklet albums, with 25% up to the mid 1990's and the remaining 75% for years mid 1990's until 2004. That being said, we took one of the middle books and came up with a face value well over $1,100. With some very convoluted math, we figured that there would be some albums worth less and some albums worth more, but that number should be a fairly good album to base an estimate upon, so we multiplied $1,100 times six albums, with a bit of safety to come up with an estimated face value of approximately $6,000. Hopefully our number is fairly close, but to be sure, you should come in and do some calculations yourself to properly evaluate. In addition to the face value, there are the usual premium items: imperf Bugs Bunny, two special die cut Steamboats panes, recalled Legend of the West, etcetera, o.g., mostly never hinged, generally Fine to Very Fine. 2237   imageBeaucoup Face Value Collection, 1950s-2010s, collected from an older stamp collector who collected in a very unorganized and random style. This collector had stamps everywhere in hundreds of albums with panes of postage randomly inserted into pages of filler and it took us hours to sort out the postage from the rest of the flotsam. The surprising part was, by the time we finished, there was a massive amount of face value postage, mostly from the post 1990's period, with plenty of mint value from 29c and up, concentrated with the post 2000 sheetlets to the 2010's forever issues, along with the various priority and express high values. There didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to how the collector organized or purchased his stamps, so it is a little difficult to get an exact figure here. There is a bit of sorting still to do here as we included some of the fuller intact albums which will need to be stripped before all of the face value can be fully extracted. You may want to spend some time with a calculator on this one., o.g., some never hinged / some hinged, generally Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 132 lbs. (Image)

2238   imagePlate Block Accumulation, mostly from 1950s-2010s, in four and a quarter file boxes of #4 glassines, each identified by Scott number and retail priced from a dealer stock from early 3¢ to forever rates with so much face value in between, we noted some occasional higher denomination items (we noted some dollar values up to $5 as well as some priority issues) as well as groups of year sets. By volume about half of the volume is post 1990's stamps which have higher denominations and will quickly add up in face value, with a decent selection of better forever rates. This is a bring your calculator to work day lot, because the person who properly figures this lot may be surprised with some strong profit potential, generally Fine to Very Fine. 2243   image"A Serious Face" Value Lot, 1908-2016, Let's cut to the chase; there's at least $4,000 in face here, undoubtedly more, but whoa there, I want to elaborate a bit more on what's in this lot. In addition to two U.S. mint collections, there are stamps you will not want to mail a letter with, like #C4 or the recalled Legends of the West sheet. Also, a binder with 100's of coil strips including PNCs, precancels, even test coils. There's stockbooks of mint singles & plate blocks with numerous in the $1-5 range including plate blocks of 2482, 2592, 4144 and a Mystic album with a nearly complete collection of imperforate commemoratives 2012-16 featuring a couple hundred Forevers, as well as the Express Mail stamps. Here too are items you probably don't want to use as postage, such as 4710p, 4806b, 5041a, etc. In addition, two binders loaded with complete booklets up to 2007 and a box of coil rolls, almost all of which are full rolls including imperf rolls of 344 & 409. And to add even more value to this lot, an accumulation of unused envelope entires, postal cards, postal reply cards and air letter sheets along with some accompanying literature. Catalogue value of the postal stationery exceeds $2,000 and includes the following better entires: U218 (3), U219 (2), U351, U523-28, etc, Fine to Very Fine, additional images online. 2257   imageFace Value Accumulation, 1920s-2000s, coming to us in eight bankers boxes, before repacking, and consisting of two mint sheet files, mint sheet album and group of USPS retail packs of sheets and part sheets with the majority of these sheets from late 1990's to early 2000's adding up to nearly $1,000 face for just these sheets and USPS retail packs, recalled Legends of the West pane in blue folder, USPS commemorative panels and souvenir pages from 1972-1995 in 26 USPS commemorative panel albums, 19 USPS year sets from 1972//1991, and 14 balance collections filled with scattered about face value postage from 1920's to early 2000's. All of this adds up to substantial face value which should be worth well over our low estimate for the dealer willing to spend a bit of time adding up or counting everything here, generally Fine to Very Fine. 2258   imageFace Value Stock, 1920s to early 1970s, in seven very large file boxes filled with somewhere in the neighborhood of 70,000-90,000 stamps by weight, if you figure an average face value of around 4¢-5¢, the overall face value quickly adds up to well above even our high estimate, when you factor in the occasional higher denominations from the various definitive sets, it is easy to justify a higher average, along with higher profit potential, generally Fine to Very Fine.
