LotNo. Symbol CatNo. Lot Description
2783   imageWorldwide, The Ultimate Global Treasure Hunt, 1840-1990. If you enjoy the thrill of the chase then this 15 carton collection and accumulation is the lot for you. The value in the red boxes inside two of the cartons is surprising and riveting. The collector favored used and much of the better material is in these red boxes on #4 sales cards all with Scott numbers for easy resale and reference. Many of the boxes are simply brimming with key singles and sets, for instance the Netherlands has both key 10 Guilders Scott 86 and 101 in nice used copies plus just about all of the other better Dutch issues as well. Liechtenstein is also noteworthy, Newfoundland has a plethora of early key stamps without the usual high catalogue "Dogs" that are often in collections. Also included is a mint Balbo Scott C18. The collector separated stamps which had higher Scott values at different levels so there are interesting groups of only better items from around the world including P.R.C. and Japan. You will find very nice German Colonies used 5 mark values. A lot of Northwest Pacific Islands is worthwhile, British Guiana, Iceland, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Russia, Excellent Australian States with Sydney Views, a section of Great Britain, New Zealand, Norway, Finland and much, much more. Several of the red boxes are quite high in Scott and basically untouched others are not virginal, but still have decent value. The Scott value on just the red boxes should easily be well over $300,000. and this doesn’t include 13 other cartons. Three volumes of Scott Internationals are densely packed with additional potential country collections for resale and have a very good break-up value. Other albums include multiple Minkus Global albums not as strong as the Scott albums but more grist for the mill. South America is also present as is Asia and the rest of the world including British Commonwealth. There are stockbooks, folders with pages organized by country, Topicals, stock sheets with quantities of the good, the bad and …. This is a special lot to view and even more importantly a lot that will keep on giving as this lengthy description barely scratches the surface. Quality is a bit mixed, however many or even most of the hundreds of better stamps are Fine to Very Fine. A huge Scott value that should make our estimate conservative. Shipping charges apply - weight 296 lbs. (Image)

2784   imageWorldwide, Important Inventory Built on New Issues From the 1920's-1990's. All housed in 49 large red boxes with 250 to 400 large size glassines, on average, in each box, this is the perfect holding for online sales or to even jump start a stamp business. About 85% is mint N.H. with some earlier material L.H. and some better sets mint + used. This quality conscious dealer’s family was buying new issues from the late 1920’s up to 2000 and much is in blocks or even some folded sheets are to be found. Usually in most stocks you have off-quality 19th century, not in this exceptional inventory. The only 19th is a small part of the Netherlands, and it appears that is all unless we missed something. As we reviewed 0 this balance fairly quickly our notes are random and not in country order. Certainly we also missed many highlights and space nor time was available to list it all. The stock is primarily comprised of sets and singles as issued plus souvenir sheets, prices range from Scott’s minimum up to about $100 or so. The sweet spot is in the $10 to $50 range where value adds up quickly and quantities are generally 5 to 50 but can run higher even on better issues, Highlights include: Cambodia 90a+90b souvenir sheets (33 sets) $775, Republic of China 1232-1237 (97) N.H. $460, 1267-1269 (59) N.H. $474, 1284-1289 (80 in sheets folded) N.H. $1340,Hong Kong 203-212 (8) N.H. $528, Germany 692 N.H. (213) $958, 725 (119) N.H. $535, 744-745 (70)N.H. $444, 936-951 (35) N.H. $479, D,D,R, 237a (183) N.H. $2745, both Germany & DDR have some better used or C.T.O, the DDR has a good showing of early issues as well in mint, Zanzibar a 1936 set from sheets 214-217 (55 sets) $2392, Thailand 302-303 (31) N.H. $279, Viet Nam a solid section includes 100-107 N.H. (125 sets) $1581, North Viet Nam values to $90 and a plethora of sets, New Zealand one full box and quantities of the semi-postal miniature sheets, Iceland C3(30) o.g. $750, Belgium B317-B318 (53 sets) $1007, good Australia & Austria, Excellent Yugoslavia with 142-154 (10+) N.H. $350, 424-432 (14+) C.T.O.$354, 564-571 (19) N.H. $235, Panama 430-432+ C224-C226 (80) N.H. $492, Hungary B203a (6)N.H. $260, 198A-198D + CB1-CB1c (11) N.H. $363, CB3-CB12 (74) N.H. $503, Liechtenstein one envelope of 223-225 C.T.O. $2000+, 277-280 (20) C.T.O. $800, Solid Laos 1-17N.H, 18-22 N.H, 30-33+ C22-C23 (50 sets) N.H. $737, B4-B5 (100+) N.H. $800, C14-C19 (45+) N.H. $877, Lebanon is well represented, Iran 1159-1160 (50 Sets) N.H. $400, Good Iraq & Iceland, lots of Monaco, San Marino 266-271 (25) N.H. $875, plus more. There are dozens more countries that are worthwhile. Condition for a lot this size is almost uniformly Fine to Very Fine with very few faults. We only scanned this exceptional holding so there is much more to be discovered. Scott value is huge and well into six figures. Shipping charges apply - weight 311 lbs. (Image)

2785   imageWorldwide, Alpha and Omega Collection, 1840 to 1970s, mint and used and housed in 30 bulging and loaded Scott International Albums, some so heavy they are hard to manage, containing stamps from every corner of the globe and offered intact at the owners instruction, formed by a working laborer who collected passionately for six decades, so many stamps it would be daunting to estimate, He, like most of our elder clients, loved all the Blue Chip Countries; Great Britain; Canada; Austria; Belgium; France; Germany; Luxembourg; Netherlands; Switzerland and a host of others too lengthy to list, condition seemed clean overall, an impressive start to collecting the World or an excellent unit to be broken apart and sold for a tidy profit, the collector neatly arranged the pages in each volume so that the best items were in the front as presented alphabetically by voume, the owners inventory last done in 2007 exceeded $175,000 Scott Catalog Value, trust your gut on this one, generally Fine to Very Fine or better. 2786   imageWorldwide, Massive Scott International Collection, 1840-2000, in 48 volumes, with used neatly hinged onto pages and mint neatly mounted, decent amount of completion, with probably many tens of thousands of different stamps, carefully filling the pages of these very clean albums, which not only contain the less expensive stamps you may find in collections like this, but also contain occasional better earlier stamps as well as the useful modern issues with are often missing from most collections. We noticed stronger sections of British and French Colonies, Western and Eastern Europe (including Russia and USSR) seem to be well represented, occasional better sections of more modern Latin and South America, which seem to have a lower Scott value, but are highly elusive for collectors to actually find for their collections, as well as occasional useful sections of modern east Asia, United States could probably be sold by itself as a decent used collection with a few early classics, type II 15c 1869 Pictorial, several banknotes with occasional better denominations, Columbians and Trans-Mississippi sets up to 50c, etcetera. There are way too many stamps to go into detail about each country, so we though it better to write about one country and hopefully this brief taste will inspire you to view some of your own favorite countries. Australia starts off with the states issues, New South Wales: starting with early 1p red imperf seal, several earlier imperf Victoria's and proceeding to the early perforated Victoria's, a few official overprints and fiscal issues, Queensland: a few early Victoria's of various watermarks, South Australia: several early imperforate followed by several rouletted Victoria's, Western Australia: an imperf swan followed by several earlier perforated early swans, Victoria: decent section of postal fiscals, Australia: decent variety of Kangaroos and George V issues up to 2/-, a scattering of later mint 1930's commemorative sets, 1938 George VI mint 5/- to £1 issues, high level of mint or used completion from 1940 until it starts to drop off a bit in the middle of the 1990's, 1946 military stamps to 5/-, a few officials and perfin officials as well as a few fiscals, some vending labels and a few cut squares, plus decent Antarctic Territory issues. This is just one of the many countries in this collection, some are a bit stronger, some are a bit weaker. We chose a popular one so that many people could imagine the completeness of the entire collection, but we are sure there is something for you in here, generally Fine to Very Fine. 2787   imageWorldwide, Key Material, 1850-1955, Includes a vast array of material from a wroldwide collector, we note: Portugal including key issues, Spain and Colonies with selected better, Italy, Colonies and Occupations, San Marino, Vatican, etc., Greece again with key values/sets present, France and Colonies, Monaco, Middle East with Turkey, Iraq etc., United States also included with useful, South America including classic Brazil, Uruguay, Japan including nicer values, German States, Saar, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Finland & Norway rounds out the Nordic Countries. Each of the areas also have nice selections of the scarcer to find back-of-the-book issues, one would find it hard to find all of this in one place again and although not everything is arranged in order or in complete sets, the aggregate overall value will be immense, some duplication maybe up to ten or so of an item/set, the collector thought he might someday be a dealer, sound familiar?
