430   imageBalance of Classics Collection, 1880s-1935, four stockpage sides and numerous album pages, the individual items that just missed the cut of making single lots, a mix of hinged and never hinged; everything here exhibits the same quality and freshness found earlier in the sale, with items ranging from a 3¢ Bank Note to 1909 Lincoln, numerous Washington-Franklins including coil pairs and line pairs, most Front-of-Book issues from 1919-35 with Farley imperfs and gutter pairs; nice Back-of-the-Book with Airs, Special Delivery, Dues, Offices in China, etc., plus a few Trial Colors or Proofs, some usages on cover, two Columbian Expo entry tickets, a #C98a plate block of 12…even a few foreign (including two Cape of Good Hope Triangles), etc.; comes in the complete first Specialty album with all the collector's pages, many providing details on types and plating of early issues, and all with mounts ready to be filled, Very Fine, a worthy holding of this late classics period material, rarely offered in this across-the-board quality. 431   image1935-2009, Complete Quality Mint Collection, neatly mounted in four slipcased Scott National albums, with each space filled for the period; as is apparent from the singles and sets offered in this sale, the collector was single-minded in his pursuit of quality, so this isn't your usual modern US collection; many of these stamps are gradable, and there isn't a slider in the bunch; Post Office fresh throughout; our spot-checks turned up just one barely hinged stamp (#834), but expect the very occasional hinge mark or slight gum disturbance; regular issues and commemoratives, Airmails, Postage Dues and Special Deliveries included, farther Back-of-the-Book is not, o.g., never hinged, Very Fine with most better, a spectacular ready-made collection, or excellent material for restocking (with plenty of recent for postage). Shipping charges apply - weight 25 lbs. (Image)
