528 E   image1982-83, Outstanding Specialized Holding of Airletter Production Material, a wide-ranging holding of incredible depth and quality surrounding the issue of these short-lived private letter service stamps; comprises 30 essays and studies for Western Express, numerous signed or initialed by artist Marianne Garchine; 44 color separations for Burlington, P.R.I.D.E., and Western Express labels; 31 First Day Covers for American Letter, Burlington, P.R.I.D.E., and Western Expresses (two Westerns signed by designer Ken Maul); plus three properly used covers (one American Express, two Burlington); the collection crowned by an original signed Garchine acrylic painting of a Boeing 767 as used on the Westerns; preliminary studies and accepted designs included, allowing the specialist to follow the evolution of various designs; a few items with lightly rumpled corners or edges, but remarkably solid and sound for their dimensions; many still on Airletter Collector's Centre sales/auction pages, Very Fine, you're unlikely to ever see a compilation such as this again; imaged in full online.
